Just a tip on the Amex plat £100 cash back.

I booked 2 rooms on the same booking and they appeared separately at £151 quid each.

No sign of credit so I had to message them from my account. It’s now sorted. So if you haven’t had your credit yet get onto them.

  • Aliks says:

Who did you send the message to – Amex Travel or Amex?

    • Pol says:

I had a similar problem and sent a secure message to amex from my account. Credit appeared within the hour.

  • David says:

    important date also for european

On 16 November 2011, the tier thresholds for members based in Continental Europe (all European countries excluding UK and ROI) were standardised in line with the requirements outlined in this section.

However, if you are an existing Silver and Gold member based in Europe, you will have been offered an opportunity to retain whatever tier you held on 1 March 2012 and continue to retain this tier for two years at the old retention rates, 400 for Silver or 800 for Gold. This offer has since been extended by one additional year to 1 March 2015.

  • Michael says:

Is it also possible to make use of the Amex 100£ cashbakh on 300£ spent for travel more than once if you have more than 1 Amex card, e.g. booking 3 flights separately over 3 cards + hotels too with further cards?

  • Michael says:

…just recognised that this promo is for platinum cardholders only. Would be to generous otherwise

  • Rob says:

This is only for Amex Platinum.

I know someone who registered a supplementary card and got Amex to manually credit a 2nd £100 against a £300 charge put against his supplementary card. It had not posted automatically and this is because it shouldn’t have! However, if you have a Platinum supplementary and need to spend 2 lots of £300 there is nothing to lose by registering the supplementary, putting the 2nd charge through that and trying to claim the £100 via a complaining email. I would not condone this which is why I haven’t written about it as a tactic.

  • Akhil Gupta says:

My 10,000 points from the platinum supplementary cards haven’t posted. Have anyone else’s?

  • AndyGWP says:

My wife upgraded her Gold to Platinum a few days ago (for the bonus) and was immediately approved and received her new Platinum card yesterday.

Today, she has put me through for the supplementary card and surprisingly they will get back to her in 10 days… this is despite me holding a few different Amex cards in the past, and being a supplementary on her Gold card (this supplementary I had already cancelled at the end of January)

Surprised I didn’t get immediate approval… I wonder if it’s something to do with how long ago my supplementary Gold was cancelled / confusing the system? :/

    • Rob says:

Amex does this occasionally for no sensible reason!

    • Polly says:

I has the same with my daughters recently, they just sometimes don’t get the verification right first time, at their address, but it will go through, after all it’s only a supp card.
