Details of the new Priority Pass and Lounge Club lounge at Stansted revealed

When No 1 Traveller closed its lounge at London Stansted before Christmas, I mentioned that an ‘Escape’ lounge was being planned for the main terminal.  ‘Escape’ is the brand used by Manchester Airports Group across the various airports it owns (Stansted, Bournemouth, East Midlands, Manchester).

Details of the new lounge have now appeared on the Stansted website.

In summary:

It opens April 27th

Access is restricted until 3 hours before your departure time

Open 4am to 8.30pm daily

No children under the age of 6 allowed

Situated on the mezzanine floor in the main departure lounge

It is not yet confirmed that you will be able to enter via Priority Pass or Lounge Club.  However, all of the other ‘Escape’ lounges in the portfolio belong to both of these programmes so I am assuming that both will be accepted.  As the new lounge will be in the main departure area, you are guaranteed to be able to use it, wherever your destination.

Unless I get invited to any opening party, I’d be grateful if any Head for Points reader who passes through the airport on April 27th or soon after could take a few photographs for us.

“No children under the age of 6 allowed”

Thats not good news for a mainly holiday destination airport.

I’d say thats the best news! leave the screaming outside, and have a nice calm oasis of peace!

      • RK says:

I also agree this is a good thing. Young children often spoil the main benefit of a lounge – it being a quiet place to relax. That said I do sympathise with parents as it is unfair they lose out because they have children.

      • xcalx says:

Just to be clear I have no under 6 Children, the youngest being 29 . However well parented young children should not cause you any problem.

As to the “leave the screaming outside” I totally agree, children and the well suited business man who seems to need to shout down the phone as he patrols the lounge.

OT but for anyone in the City, Tesco Cheapside have about 10 3V cards as of now. They have a new burrito stand and a gift card rack has appeared opposite near the entrance to self scan area. Never seen them in this store before.

[…] Details of the new Priority Pass and Lounge Club lounge at Stansted revealed by Head For Points. Not sure how many of my readers transit/arrive/depart through Stansted airport in the UK, but it’s always nice to have more lounge options. I’d be surprised if you weren’t able to use Priority Pass/Lounge Club to access this one as well, which will make it useful for those with the Chase Ritz Carlton credit card. […]

Just refreshed PP & Lounge Club apps & they now show the new STN lounge.

No idea if it still gets you thru fast track security tho. Will try Friday if no other details by then.

  • Amar says:

Just checked with Priority Pass on Twitter, and apparently PP holders will not be able to use the new Stansted Escape lounge. Shame as I was planning on checking it out on Friday.

    • Rich says:

As I said above, just refresh the apps.

      • Jonathan says:

Indeed it does! Good news! I guess whomever Amar checked with on Twitter hasn’t got a clue!
