Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

And the winner of the Rocketmiles / 50,000 Virgin miles and an Apple Watch is …

I’m delighted that we have a winner for the Rocketmiles-sponsored competition which ran two weeks ago.

Firstly, I’d like to apologise for the delay in announcing the winner.  This was partly due to the Memorial Day holiday in the US, where Rocketmiles is based, and partly because Rocketmiles wanted to get some advice in order to be certain that the winner would not have a US tax liability (they won’t!).

The winner of the Apple Watch and 50,000 Virgin Flying Club miles is ….. Stuart H.  Well done.

I recognised the name so it went to one of our regular readers.  There were over 4,400 entries which is a fantastic result.  Thank you to everyone who took part.

You can still get 3,000 Virgin Atlantic miles

Don’t forget that, to promote their new partnership with Virgin Atlantic, Rocketmiles is still offering 3,000 bonus Virgin Flying Club miles to new customers when they make their first hotel booking via the site, however small.

This is valid on any booking of any size. It is on top of the standard amount of Virgin Flying Club miles you will earn. This is clearly a very attractive deal – and if you book a cheap one night stay to trigger the miles, it will be an excellent result.

The terms and conditions of the ‘first booking bonus’ can be found here. You have until July 31st to make your booking and the stay can be for a date even further into the future.  It is very easy way to pick up 3,000 Virgin Flying Club miles and represents a great return on the cost of a low value stay, whilst also letting you see how easy it is to earn miles via Rocketmiles.

The link to this offer on the Rocketmiles site is here.
