New IHG PointBreaks list of 160 x 5,000 point hotels, book on Monday

Yesterday, IHG Rewards Club (the Holiday Inn, HI Express, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental etc group) released a “preview” of the new list of PointBreaks redemptions.

These rooms are a fantastic deal.

All of the 160 hotels below will be available for just 5,000 IHG Rewards Club points per night from Monday, saving up 30,000 points per night in some cases.

PointBreaks availability is very limited so book ASAP if you are interested, as soon as bookings open up on Monday. Bookings are refundable as with a standard reward reservation so there is nothing to lose.  IHG works on US time so I would not expect the offer to be available until mid-afternoon in the UK.

You can book via the IHG PointBreaks page here or via the standard booking page here.  If the PointBreaks page has not yet been updated, it does not necessarily mean that the special deals below will not already be bookable – do a search on the hotel you want to check.

You will be able to book these hotels for dates up to October 31st.

You allowed a maximum of two bookings per individual hotel. Each booking can be for as many nights as you want.

Remember that if you attempt to amend your booking later by dropping a night or two the whole booking will reprice at the full rate.

Looking at the European properties, the highlights seem to be:

Holiday Inn Terminal 5 at Heathrow (shuttle bus required, it is not at Terminal 5!)

Holiday Inn Express Hamburg City Centre, purely because I like Hamburg

Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam Central Station, because whether or not you like Rotterdam – and the museums are good – you are plugged into the cheap and quick Dutch rail network for trips to The Hague, Amsterdam etc.  The photo above is from Rotterdam.

Holiday Inn Express Lisbon – Oeiras, because it is a good Winter destination spot.  The hotel is on a business park but claims to be walkable to a station and, anyway, a car would be useful for visiting Sintra, Cascais, Estoril etc.
