    Random OT.

My points have been posting for my Tier point run. As per AA it states cabin bonuses are either 125 or 150 per cent, the bonus is coming in at 25 or 50 per cent. For Bronze and Silver they post as advertised as 25 and 50 per cent. Is this just a mistake on my account? Or is the BA system set up wrong? I’m missing Avios for status, so was going to contact BA about that. Any thoughts on Cabin bonus? Before I contact them.

    Thanks,

    Peter

I don’t quite follow, could you give an example numbers/route/class of travel? I’ve always found AA TP runs posted fine, although that was before recent changes. US flights used to give more than expected!

        Thanks Alan,

It didn’t recognise Bronze and Silver status at the right time, but I think that’ll be rectified with a phone call.

        Examples:-

HNL to LAX First Tier points 210
        Avios 2556
        Tier bonus (Silver) 1278
        Cabin Bonus 1278

So Tier bonus 50% is correct, but cabin bonus is 50% rather than 150% as per advertised on BA with AA (I guess that’s my question)

Same for LCY to JFK and all the other legs…

        Thanks for your help,
        Peter

          Hi Peter

Thanks. Looking at the BA.com calculator that seems to be correct – 5122 Avios as Silver for HNL-LAX in F.

To delve into the calculation – Flex Economy is 2566, which is identical to Great Circle Mapper – ie. the base mileage is correct.

The BA page for AA (http://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/executive-club/collecting-avios/flights) confirms 50% Avios bonus for Silver post-April (which has been awarded above) and also quotes the Avios to be awarded post-April to be 150% of flown miles for F travel. As they’ve awarded you 100% base, then 50% cabin bonus that comes to the 150% total of the flown miles.

So it looks like it’s correct to me, it’s just you’re expecting at 150% cabin bonus, rather than just a 50% one to bring it up to 150%? 😉 Based on the BA pages I’m afraid it’s only the latter that’s on offer!

          Alan

Hi Raffles… the AA page for the “SPG to AA bonus” comes up in Spanish for me (like another reader reported), but on doing a quick translate, it appears to have been extended to the end of August now 🙂

    • AndyGWP says:

PS – sorry if this has been picked up elsewhere – just back off hols so doing catchup (and looking at options for the 80k AAdvantageMiles we now have 😀 )

    • Rob says:

Yes it has, will be doing an update in the next couple of days.

      • AndyGWP says:

        Cool!

As a quick side question, we recently took a trip on AA, and on the outbound wanted BAEC to be credited, and changed the return so it went against AA (which was reflected on the tickets).

The miles (annoyingly) for the return have also posted against the BAEC account!

Have you heard of this before?

  • AndyGWP says:

New computer – think I put wrong email in so my ‘icon’ hasn’t shown… second attempt 🙂
