At last, the barren dry spell of hotel promotions is coming to an end!

Marriott Rewards has brought back its MegaBonus promotion for the Autumn.

The promotion is for stays from September 15th to January 15th 2016

The last day for registration is November 15th

There seem to be four different offers available:

Double points starting from your second stay for up to 20,000 bonus points

Earn 2,000 bonus points per stay starting from the second one for up to 20,000 bonus points (this is what I got)

Earn 15,000 bonus points after 15 nights plus additional 2,000 bonus points per additional paid night for up to 35,000 bonus points

Earn 25,000 bonus points after 20 nights plus additional 2,000 bonus points per additional paid night for up to 45,000 bonus points

You can see what you have been targetted for by logging into your Marriott Rewards account and clicking ‘Your Promotions’ which is under ‘My Account’.

Most people will have received the first one, double points from the second stay.

There is absolutely nothing to get excited about here, especially as the double points only applies to base points and not any status points.

Even the more aggressive versions are not exactly highly motivating.  I value Marriott points at £5 per 1,000, so they are basically offering an extra £75 of free stay for completing 15 nights.

Since registration closes two months before the end of the offer, there is a chance that you might miss out so you may want to log in and register now just in case.

You may want to compare this to the new Hilton HHonors promotion I covered yesterday.

  • Sussex bantam says:

Is this one targeted ? I don’t seem to have the offer (have had in previous years) which is irritating as I ise Marriott often…

  • Jason says:

I’m a plat with Marriott, I’ve got nothing.

    • Rob says:

I emailed customer services (with a thinly veiled threat to go elsewhere) they added me. Will be live in 48 hours apparently

  • Jamsey says:

It’s a joke, I haven’t stayed with them in a year due to there poor promotions.

  • zark says:

This promotion is worth about 50% of previous year promotions for the same period.
They even skipped a summer promotion altogether.
Bright sparks in ‘marketing analysis’ forgetting, as usual, anything to do with words like ‘loyalty’ or ‘intelligence’ of ‘customers’.

  • Mazin says:

It’s a reflection of the failing Marriott marketing efforts. While others have been competing fiercely, Marriott ignored its loyal customers this summer to return with such a mediocre promotion, in my opinion.
