British Airways Club World to New York for £900 ex-Switzerland, and other deals

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

British Airways has launched a number of very cheap business class deals out of Switzerland.  These are well worth a look if you are planning any long-haul travel over the next six to nine months.

Full details can be found on the Swiss version (in English) of ba.com here.

It is important to note that these are published fares!  They are not fare errors and there is a 0% chance of BA cancelling your ticket on you.  If the Swiss Franc wasn’t so strong against Sterling at the moment these fares would be astounding – as it is, they are still very good.

British Airways BA A380 flying

These are the destinations listed on ba.com as under £1,500 return, assuming an exchange rate of £1 = CHF 1.5.  Other cities may well be available at these prices:

New York – CHF 1,350 (£900)

Boston – CHF 1,448 (£965)

Washington – CHF 1,539 (£1,026)

Miami – CHF 1,639 (£1,092)

Chengdu – CHF 2,267 (£1,511)

Accra – CHF 1,461 (£974)

Rio – CHF 1,978 (£1,318)

Buenos Aires – CHF 2,190 (£1,460)

Sao Paulo – CHF 1,914 (£1,276)

Port of Spain – CHF 1,947 (£1,298)

Delhi – CHF 2,085 (£1,390)

These fares seem to be available for travel until June 2016.  It is not clear how long you have to book.  Tickets are non-refundable once booked.

I confess I’m doing my first ex-Dub to JFK this autumn but I’ve got to say it I don’t think I could be bothered going via Switzerland. Most “ordinary” folk think I’m nuts going via Dublin as it is!

  • JQ says:

Having just completed my first ex-EU to NYC, I have to say that I won’t be doing this again unless the Europe flights are at least a week away from the TATL, or I really need the TPs and don’t have any other time off.

Spending an extra 6-8 hours flying/queueing isn’t worth it to get a flat bed for 6 hours.

I’ll still do same-day ex-EU (or CH if the fares show up) for West Coast and Asia though.

  • Dino says:

Leo – are you doing Dublin- new york or via LHR on BA? If the former then you have the benefit of US clearance at Dublin. I did it a couplle of weeks ago and thought it was great.

    • Leo says:

No via LHR I think that’s what is meant here by ex-Dub. So you don’t pay the tax etc. I don’t think my friends would think I was nuts if I did it the way you did it.
