Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

New Avios partner: Abercrombie & Kent

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Upmarket travel agent Abercrombie & Kent has signed up as the latest Avios earning partner.

For any booking made via the company after 7th September, you will receive 2 Avios for every £1 you spend.  Given that A&K holidays are not cheap, this could add up to a decent slug of points.

Points will be given on all holiday and villa bookings.  Note that the definition of ‘qualifying spend’ for the purposes of calculation your Avios excludes “Air taxes, surcharges, breakage deposits, insurance and credit card charges”.

Interestingly, Abercrombie & Kent is working with all three Avios schemes.  You can choose to have your points sent to either a British Airways Executive Club, avios.com or Iberia Plus account.

Points are awarded within 30 days of the departure date for your holiday.

Avios points cannot be earned on bookings made at the A&K concession in Harrods (downstairs, next to the Pharmacy!) but you would earn Harrods Rewards points instead.  The Abu Dhabi and Monaco offices are also excluded.

Further details can be found on the Abercrombie & Kent website here.

Ah so this explains why I’ve recently noticed Avios posters all over the windows of the City branch of A&K. Never having used A&K I don’t know much about them but I did think they were considered upmarket, presumably significantly more so than Avios?

  • Erico1875 says:

Does “not cheap” mean the same product can be bought elsewhere for less, or do they only sell high value packages?

    • Rob says:

A&K is best known for its own very high end packages, hence the Harrods concession. They are well known for being the first into new markets – there is probably an Iranian tour being planned at this very moment.

  • Sam says:

Not cheap means they work predominantly with luxury hotels, and they do good numbers through them so you wouldn’t necessarily be able to buy for less elsewhere or seperately. And of course using BA IT fares as a preferred partner.

    • dgsupersonic says:

I wonder how they compare with Propeller Travel that Raffles partners with here?

  • Lady London says:

They are excellent. Heard of a couple of glitsches over the years but basically they were one of my “go-to’s” over decades when booking travel for very high end, quite fussy clients to whom quality and a reliable knowledge of the hotels, tours and locations being booked was essential. You will pay the correct price for the level of offering but they’re worth it.

  • C77 says:

Presumably the avios would only apply when purchasing directly from A&K and not via a third party such as Amex Centurion or an independent high street agency?
