Good Etihad business class deals ex-Paris (eg Maldives £1,070) – valid to September 2016

Today is the last day of an Etihad sale which has been running over the last few days. For some reason I was only sent details of the European fares yesterday.

In general, there is nothing to get excited about from most countries, including the UK.  There are some good business class deals out of Paris Charles de Gaulle, however.

Details can be found on the French version of the Etihad website here.

The headline prices are:

Hong Kong €1,572 (£1,124)

Jarkarta €1,598 (£1,143)

Melbourne €2,643 (£1,890)

Abu Dhabi / Dubai €1,631 (£1,166)

Bangkok €1,576 (£1,126)

Male / Maldives €1,502 (£1,074)

Phuket €1,576 (£1,127)

Other destinations may be available if you search.

These fares are valid from 18th January until the end of September 2016.   In the examples I checked, I could find availability at these prices.

From Paris, Etihad flies a Boeing 777 and an Airbus A340-600 to Abu Dhabi.  Both of these have the 1-2-1 formation in business class as pictured above.  The aircraft you use for your onward connection will depend on your destination.

If you fly before 15th June, you will also receive double miles from your flight!  You must register your Etihad Guest number here.

These fares need to be booked today at etihad.com.

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Etihad Guest does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Etihad Guest miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Etihad Guest miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Etihad Guest mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it.

This makes the Mbna cards i am looking at much more attractive. In this case 25000 bonus plus double miles on a lh route which would be approx another 20k+ would put a starter like me in the position to have a balance of approx 50k in one go.now, how would this combine with double points coming as a bonus from the card when flying within 90 days of card account opening and FrecciaAlata? I reckon you need to choose where to credit and loose on one side. Also, how will Oneworld respond to these pricing? A new round of exEu? New round of 500£ off with avios?

You might want to consider waiting to the last minute to apply for the the card in the hope a better triple miles offer comes along, double miles is actully a poor deal in J from Etihad. Also, register at the last minute for any Etihad promotions because a better one may come along, The promotions are generally not stackable and the one you get is the first one you register for, even if you register for another better one later. Be aware too that even 60k EG mies is not going to get you very far sincd the devaluation last summer.

HI James67, thanks for your comment
I agree applying for the card as late as possible but you really think that the bonus (90days from card opening) is not stackable with Etihad 2x/3x promo? that would not make sense.
i know it would not get me that far but it would be a back up for Italy as my Millemiglia is now empty and do not want to fill it up and enough for a one way to be paired with Lufthansa or AA oneways.
anyone knows how to check taxes on redemptions with partners without calling the customer service?
it would help to see it that makes sense or not for some routes.
and by the way, my opportunity cost for this operation would be only approx 3000AA which at the moment i do not need.

Ah,i remember you moved up North! I just booked my first Scottish trip (first leg for free using the now closed UK free domestic segment when travelling from abroad to UK with BA RFS/return £48;-), 2for1 at Radisson’s. I will need some advice on ideas for day trips from EDI:-) and for a future trip, I would love to try flying to the remote islands’ airports with BA for a heart-breaking weekend with those landscapes!

I got lucky earlier this summer when I managed to get and use the card before devaluation. With the 25k bonus, triple miles and I think it was 30% off deal for flying on a Tuesday or Wednesday, a flight costing £316 rtn to BKK in conjunction with 33k SPG and a few other bits and pieces like holidaycheck and heathrow rewards got me: ow economy class, ow upgraded to business class, ow business class redemption, 4x car transfer with two over 60 miles, and £100 amazon voucher. Probably one of my best deals ever as it was painless and low cost. So still worth doing post devalution if you can boost the miles in some way. The double points from the credit card are indeed stackable with the double/triple points offer from Etihad. However, if you register for multiple Etihad promos as I did, when I chased up ‘missing’ miles I was told by CS that only first registered oromotion at any time counts. Probably still worth the chance registering for them all but be sure to register for best one first. You will probably find it almost impossible to use EG miles on partners other than AA according to reports.

Regards Scotland, even if you base yourself in Edinburgh you can be in most corners of country on day trips excepting north of Inverness and outlying islands. If you don’t want to hire a car there are many coach and small group tour companies that will do the job. For examp,e google Rabbies Trailblazers, Grayline, Scotline, Lochs and Glens. Enjoy your visit.

        thank you!

idrive, I forgot to add that if you want to fly to Scottish islands sometime make sure you include Barra if you want to try sonething different. There is no airport, they use a small plane with fixed landing gear that lands and takes off from the beach. I believe the landing strip has to be prepared daily depending on weather and tides. It used to be operated by BA but I guess it’s now flybe so you should still be ble to use avios.

Everybody should make time to visit Islay (and/ or Jura) and Orkney.

            Wonderful places, wonderful people.

Whisky, archaeology, food, je-ne-sais-quoi – you’ll be welcomed as a friend.

          • Liz says:

Heading to Orkney next month for 3 days and going to the Highland Park distillery! Must be mad going in November. Tagging along with my husband as he has to work there for one day. I booked the ferry through Avios and got 378 miles plus 9200 Avios for my first booking with Kaligo!

  • Brendan says:

OT – OW Ex DUB J fares loaded. Some standouts – LAS as low as £945, MIA as low as £859!

    • Fiona says:

Many thanks for the post here Brendan. I was looking at LAS flights in J ex DUB and last week they were hovering around the £1,200 mark. Have now just booked for £965. Very happy.

      • Brian says:

Yes, seems like BA has launched a ‘luxury’ sale – no doubt Raffles has a post lined up.
