Le Club AccorHotels, the loyalty programme for Novotel, Ibis, Sofitel, Mercure etc, has launched an online quiz to teach you more about the programme.

The great news is that you will receive 1,050 to 1,100 Le Club AccorHotels points for doing it!  The points post instantly.

You can find it here.

The quiz is called ‘Rewards Quest’.  Whilst I call it a quiz, the number of points you earn is not dependent on how you answer the questions.  Get them right or get them wrong, you will still get the points.

The questions are slightly different if you do not have status in Le Club.  I was only able to earn 1,050 points as a Platinum member whilst a base level member should be able to receive the full 1,100.

If your account is set up to automatically convert points to miles, you will presumably receive these as miles instead.  If not, you will need to earn a few more before you can do anything with them.

The minimum conversion to Avios points is 3,000 points.  You should always transfer Accor points into Iberia and not British Airways because the conversion rate is 1:1 compared with 2:1.

The minimum conversion into an Accor hotel discount is 2,000 points which gets you €40.

At certain times in the past it has been possible to convert points to miles irrespective of your balance.  I don’t think you can do that at the moment but the option may come back.  It is worth claiming your free points just in case.

Note:  I had trouble getting the quiz to work on my PC, both in Chrome and in Internet Explorer.  It worked fine on my iPad.  Your experience may differ.

You can log-in and play “Rewards Quest” here.  It will run until 14th February.

    Thanks btw Raffles!

I have 1182 points now so hopefully some other promotion comes along allowing me to boost to 3000. Otherwise, I’ll have to make sure I stay at an Accor hotel at least once a year or the points will expire.

  • Nick says:

Easy 1100 points thanks! Im now at 3870 points but still on classic as it says I need 8 nights or 2500 points to reach silver? Ive now reached the points required but not the stays but I read it as 8 nights OR 2500 points (which im at!).

Any ideas how i’m now at 3870 points but still not a silver member just a lowly classic? For what its worth!!!

  • Andrew H says:

According to Raffles’ article in July about when Accor points expire, the only way of earning points without a hotel stay are the following:

transferring points from the eRewards market research scheme (but this is ‘invite only’ membership)

by transferring some Finnair frequent flyer miles into Accor or

by crediting a Europcar car rental to Accor

Ideally I’d do the first but I already have an E-Rewards account and you can’t change the reward sponsor without shutting your account down, losing existing survey points and re-registering.

    • Graeme says:

I have two E-Rewards accounts – one linked (and tied) to Avios.com, and one linked to Iberia – but I found last time I converted from there that I could convert to any of their partners (I went with Hilton but wish I’d used SPG). If you can wangle an Iberia invite then you might get lucky.

      • Lady London says:

pretty sure iberia invite for e-rewards was in the last Iberiaplus newsletter. Or the one before that.

I ignored it as to call the airline a rewards “sponsor” is just laughable. The so-called sponsoring company earns a lot more than you, out of you going onto e-rewards.

        • reader says:

If I transferred my orphan stash of Finnair Plus points into Accor, could I then convert these into Avios?

  • Andrew H says:

That sounds like a complaint but it isn’t. Great offer by Accor. I’m sure I’ll figure out a way to transfer the points 🙂

  • AndyS says:

wow that was easy, thanks for the info. just a few clicks, didn’t even have to read the info, click, close, repeat!

  • Alan says:

1050 points in no time, plus the 500 IPSOS MORI survey points they ran a few months ago have now posted. Added to the Plat bonus points for my recent stay and I’m up over €200 in credit 🙂

  • RichT says:

So.. Did this 1100 points credited… Now my balance says 0 and my statement has – 1100 points with “Account Regularisation” next to it? Any clues?

  • simon says:

Points posted immediately for me. Have recently received some great value from Accor using just 2000 points per ticket for events at the O2 . Deep Purple, Madonna, and tomorrow Status Quo All in a VIP Suite . Granted we had to pay for drinks and food in the suit so unlike SPG, but at 40 euro per ticket great value. There was also a selection of theatre tickets and what appeared to be a fabulous super car driving experience in Northern Ireland.

    • Sussex Bantam says:

Hi – is there a link to these experiences ? All I can find is details of previous ones ! Usually I’d blame my own incompetence for this but here I feel justified in blaming their web-site !
