Exclusive HfP competition: Win 50,000 IHG Rewards Club points

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

I’m delighted to launch another exclusive Head for Points competition today.  One lucky reader is going to walk away with 50,000 IHG Rewards Club points!

50,000 IHG Rewards Club points will get you:

ten PointBreaks nights if you save them for the next round of super-discounted redemptions

two or three free nights at a mid range property, such as a regional Holiday Inn

one free night at a top-end IHG property such as the luxurious InterContinental Amstel in Amsterdam, or one of the InterContinental hotels in Paris (above), New York, London etc

10,000 Avios points – or 10,000 miles in most other major airline schemes – if you don’t want a hotel stay

You can find out more about IHG Rewards Club at their website here.

The reason for IHG’s generosity is their European Winter Sale, which is running until 7th February.

You can save up to 30% on stays at 600 InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo hotels across Europe.

The sale rates are valid for sale until 29th February 2016.

Full details of the IHG Winter Sale can be found at this special website.

How to win 50,000 IHG Rewards Club points

All you need to do is complete the automated form at the bottom of this article.  That’s it.

You have a maximum of two entries per submission.  You gain one entry for filling in your email address and you can earn a second entry if you tweet about the competition.

The deadline for entries is midnight on Friday 22nd January.  The winner will be announced on Head for Points next week.

You can only enter if you are a UK resident – I apologise to Head for Points readers in other countries.  If you are UK-based but travelling this week, you will need to email a friend back home with a link to this page to enter for you.  You are limited to one submission per person and the points will only be deposited in an IHG Rewards Club account which matches the name of the winner.

Please read this before you enter:

Entrants must be aged 18 years or over.

The competition will launch at 5.45am on Monday 18th January and close at midnight UK time on Friday 22nd January.

Please ensure that you put a valid email address on the entry form.

The winner will be picked at random by the software which collates the entries.

The prize will be deposited into an IHG Rewards Club account.  The name of the winner must match the name on the account.

Entries are limited to one per person.

Your email details will not be used by Head for Points for any other purpose and will not be shared with IHG.

You must be a UK resident to enter. You must also be physically based within the UK in order to be able to enter – if you are travelling this week, you will need to ask a friend or relative in the UK to enter for you.

Under UK law I am obliged to make the name of the winner available upon request.

Good luck to everyone.

If you cannot see the entry widget below, please click here and you will be taken to a separate page where you can enter.

    Entered – cheers Rob!

  • Chris says:

No problems entering. Many Thanks Raffles / Rob.

  • Charloc says:

Hi, thanks for running this. Do you know if 50000 points would allow you to book a room in Paris which also meets the “kids stay free” option mentioned on the website. I have 2 free “accelerate” nights (3 if I win this!) to use and would ideally like to use this free kids in room option too.

    • Rob says:

It needs to be a hotel where the base level rooms are big enough to take extra people. Some hotels can do this, many cannot. You will find some though.

In London about 15 per cent of IHG hotels can take more than 2 people in their base level room. Holiday Inn Camden Lock is one I have used for my brother in the past.

  • Casey says:

Thanks for the nice Monday morning competition! I’m a cash & Avios poor person looking to book two nights in Miami in April, this would help! 😉

    • Swad Wolf says:

I’ve stayed at the ‘ Z Beach’ and Intercontinental in Miami, both using IHG points. I’d recommend both; the ‘Z Beach’ is all suites and 2 mins walk from South Beach. Rooms were excellent (although this was around 5 years ago).

  • Danksy says:

It’s a competition, if you don’t like the t’s&c’s then don’t enter.. its your choice!

    Good luck everyone!

  • Mark says:

“Entries are limited to one per person.”…….”Thank you for entering. Tweet for another entry”

    Contradictory statements?

    • Rob says:

Semantics! One ‘submission’ per person which can comprise of one or two entries!

  • david gibson says:

    thanks raffles.

OT: Thinking of applying for the AmEx plat card (moreover actually upgrading my PRG)

Was checking out the platinum benefits site but I don’t see mention of the status upgrade with the multiple hotel chains e.g. Hilton, SPG etc.. ; Can anyone who has got the card recently please confirm if they are still providing these benefits.
