I covered the two recent Iberia and British Airways Hilton promotions in recent days.  The best one is the Iberia Plus version (compare with the BA Hilton promo here) which gets you:

double Avios on your first stay

triple Avios on your second stay

quadruple Avios on your third and subsequent stays

Lufthansa and Hilton have launched a similar promotion.  This is more generous than the Avios offer unless you are spending substantial sums on your stay.  If you collect Miles & More miles this is well worth a look.

change your Hilton HHonors earning profile to ‘points and miles’ and

select ‘Miles & More’ as your airline partner

For your next two Hilton Group stays before 31st August you would receive:

1,500 bonus Miles & More miles on your first stay

2,000 bonus Miles & More miles on your second stay

You would ALSO receive double points on the ‘points’ bit of ‘points and miles’ if you register for the ‘Unlimited Bonus’ promotion as well – see here for details.

If you value Miles & More miles at 1p, this is an additional £15 to £20 rebate per stay on top of your base points and your base miles.  That is not a bad result, especially on a cheap stay.  The fact that you cannot buy Miles & More miles* means that opportunities to pick them up easily should be taken seriously.

(* whilst you can’t oficially buy Miles & More miles, there is a decent workaround.  Buy Starwood Preferred Guest points and convert those.  The price is not far off what you would expect to pay for Miles & More miles if they were sold directly.)

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2024)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

Do you know that holders of The Platinum Card from American Express receive FREE Hilton Honors Gold status for as long as they hold the card?  It also comes with Marriott Bonvoy Gold, Radisson Rewards Premium and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here and you can apply here.

Did you know that the Virgin Atlantic credit cards are a great way of earning Hilton Honors points? Two Virgin Points can be converted into three Hilton Honors points. The Virgin Atlantic cards are the only Visa or Mastercard products in the UK which can indirectly earn Hilton Honors points. You can apply here.

You can also earn Hilton Honors points indirectly with:

• American Express Gold (20,000 bonus Amex points)
• American Express Rewards Credit Card (10,000 bonus Amex points)

and for small business owners:

• American Express Business Gold (20,000 bonus Amex points)
• American Express Business Platinum (40,000 bonus Amex points)

The conversion rate from American Express to Hilton points is 1:2.
