Long-time readers will know that I usually drop the post count from three articles to two during August.

This year is no exception and the reduced article rate will start from tomorrow.  Technically, it started today if you don’t count this as a proper article!

I promise you that you won’t miss anything.  The travel industry tends to go to sleep in August and there are few new deals to report.  You can be sure that anything which does come up will be covered.

There will still be three articles on any particular day if the news flow justifies it.  I will take the opportunity to run more ‘how to’ pieces than usual.  There will also be a few UK hotel reviews as a number of properties have invited us (well, Anika) along during their quiet weeks.  We also have a batch of flight and hotel reviews from her recent New York trip ready to run.

For clarity, the site continues to run as normal.   Dropping a daily article simply keeps pace with the reduced newsflow.  My laptop will be following me across Spain, the Dolomites and Venice.

    Enjoy your holiday Rob and thanks again for all the great tips from your site. Just returned from a great holiday in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Following your advice, managed to get DUB-LHR-LAS Club World tickets for little more than economy tickets from LHR in July. Made the holiday travelling in Club World and use of all the lounges. Also enjoyed a couple of days in Dublin. Stayed at the Palazzo in Vegas and hopefully should get a free Intercontinental night from that deal. Also joined Intercontinental gold elite following your tip and got upgraded at the Palazzo, large delicious fruit bowl and late check out without even asking, as well as free night certificate for joining, which should cover the enrolment fee. Thanks again.

    OT: I won a prize from the LHR competition for Heathrow stories (it’s where my husband proposed in early 2014 and we’ve just celebrated our 2 year anniversary). A coffee table book rather than one of the more desirable prizes but it put a smile on my face so thanks for the tip 🙂
