News in brief:

Get 4,000 bonus Miles & More miles with a hotel booking

The German Miles & More website is offering 4000 bonus miles when booking hotels via their website.

Until 31st October bookings made via this website will get at least 5000 miles in total adding 4000 bonus miles to the usual 1000 + miles earned with a hotel booking made with Lufthansa.

On the website it looks like you can only get the bonus miles when you speak German.

However (luckily) this isn’t true.

You need to start on this page of the German Lufthansa website where everything is in German. Once you’ve changed the location to United Kingdom (click on Deutschland – DE in the far right corner), the text will be in English. The offer won’t show on the homepage any longer.  However once you’ve chosen your destination and date you will see the 4000 bonus miles added to the earnings from the hotels shown.

Get £18 off your next Lufthansa flight

Speaking of Lufthansa, it is giving customer £18 off their next flight to Germany or beyond with a special promo code.

The promo code will be emailed to you once you’ve filled out name and email address on this page of the Lufthansa website.

Promo codes can be redeemed until 20th Noveber 2016 for travel between 21st October 2016 and 20th January 2017.

This promotion is only for flights from the UK and can be redeemed on the Lufthansa website.

Looking forward to the credit card reviews!

  • sohan says:

Thanks for this, very useful to top up M+M and also practice my school German 🙂

    OT
Does anyone know if you get offered any avios bonus if you upgrade your BA Amex to the BAPP?

    • Rob says:

Some people get a 6000 Avios bonus added on but no-one knows why! Certainly not guaranteed and the call centre know nothing about it.

  • Kirill says:

Just spent £3000 on the BA Premium card, once the points show on my AMEX account, can I safely downgrade to the free version? I have no intention of getting the the 241 voucher and only want the avios. Thanks

  • Graeme says:

Also OT – when was the last time there was a bonus on the Starwood Amex? I’m wondering whether I should hold fire on a new application.

  • czechoslovakia says:

Appears you can only use the OCTOBER code once per M&M account. Cancelled refundable booking, saved 30 euro, and nabbed 5325 miles. Cheers Rob

    • rick says:

      Care to expand?

      • czechoslovakia says:

I had two refundable IHG bookings I wanted to cancel and rebook through M&M. First went through fine, second came up with:
Sorry, aber Sie haben keinen Anspruch auf diese Förderung ( OCTOBER ). (in short, I am not eligible)
The promo code for the 4000 bonus is OCTOBER, already added in Anika`s link.
Luckily both booking were for 1 night only, so nothing lost

    • Topixtrader says:

The German LH page in the screenshot says “einmalig” which means you can use the code only once.

  • rick says:

OT- On my Avios.com account it says refer your friend for LLOYDS Avios card and both of us would receive 4500 Avios.
Is this true even if I do not have any existing Lloyds credit card?
I also learned from past posts that invite emails are slow (or non-existent in some cases) to get by.
Considering to get this for my wife to use and possibly use for HMRC payments.
Also in experience is Lloyds a churnable (is this a word?) card?

    • mark2 says:

True you only need an Avios account. Admin is poor.
Also no FX charges and cash back if a Lloyds current account holder.

  • zsalya says:

Unfortunately the 4,000 is only once per person.

The upside is that the 1,000 minimum is per night.
    And they often do more.
So 40 nights is probably enough to get 55,000 M&Ms which in their sales can be a Business Class return to say Orlando.

The pricing on the hotels site is unpredictable – they have a few of the GBP400 per night with oodles of miles a la Kaligo, but for the booking I made (Warsaw, Rialto in December) the cash price was less than at booking.com.

  • Richmond says:

I’m still waiting for points from Best Western promo on MM website. Got only 500 miles instead of 3500. It took 3 weeks to get any reply to my email and now they sent it to partner for verification.

    • Mark LLL says:

When I registered for this promotion on the LH Website I remember reading that the
bonus MM points will only post after the promo period has ended i.e. 31st October.

      • Mark LLL says:

I mean the stay at a Best Western and get 3,500 MM points promo.
I’ve made 3 stays and to date have received only the standard 500 MM each stay.
p.s. I am BW diamond, thanks to Rob’s great advice and tips on HfP.
        Thanks a million.

        • Richmond says:

I had a problem finding T&C after some time as promo is well hidden on MM website. It’s quite possible that points will post later. Customer Services should pick it up and say so in the email then.
