New IHG PointBreaks list of 125 x 5,000 point hotels released, book on Monday

Yesterday, IHG Rewards Club (the Holiday Inn, HI Express, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental etc group) released a “preview” of the new list of PointBreaks redemptions.

These rooms are a fantastic deal.

All of the 125 hotels below will be available for just 5,000 IHG Rewards Club points per night from Monday, saving up to 25,000 points per night in some cases.

PointBreaks availability is very limited so book ASAP if you are interested, as soon as bookings open up on Monday. Bookings are refundable as with a standard reward reservation so there is nothing to lose. IHG works on US time so I would not expect the offer to be available until mid-afternoon in the UK.

You can book via the IHG PointBreaks page here or via the standard booking page here.  If the PointBreaks page has not yet been updated, it does not necessarily mean that the special deals below will not already be bookable – do a search on the hotel you want to check.

You will be able to book these hotels for dates up to January 31st.

Please note that, whilst this list was released to some US websites, it was not given directly to Head for Points and I cannot be 100% certain that the final list will exactly match what is listed below.

You allowed a maximum of two bookings per individual hotel. Each booking can be for as many nights as you want.

Remember that if you attempt to amend your booking later by dropping a night or two the whole booking will reprice at the full rate.

To be honest, this is a pretty weak list of hotels.  The one that looks most interesting in Europe is a Holiday Inn Express in Hamburg ….

However, as I always say, the world doesn’t work like that.  We all have our individual travel schedules for the next three months and – if any of these hotels prove suitable for your itinerary – you’ve got a great deal.

    Also Belgrade is a fascinating city – the nightclub ships on the river are unique if you are still young enough.

    CP Kathmandu is one of the better hotels there and and a great pointsbreak. I would encourage anybody who ever contemplated Nepal to go for it. We’ve been five times and every trip was memorable, evem drove from Nepal to India. Over the last few years a lot more airlines have started flying in so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a good deal or redemption.

    The Holiday Inn Glenmarie is a very good HI, rooms getting a bit old though. Stayed there last year for one night an accelerate mattress run. Wandered in past the ferraris etc in my shorts n t shirt to the check in desk where i joined a queue for check in, one of the staff came over to see if i needed help (!), advised that i was checking in, and she wandered off without another word! Once i got to check in and they spotted i was Spire what a change in attitude! 3 staff grouped around the compute and upgraded to a suite, which was suitably big and with a view over the golf course. At check out the customer service manager gave me her business card and asked for feedback! All said n done, bargain for 5000 points, but nowhere near KLCC.

    Holiday Inn Express Neunkirchen is a pleasant enough stop – only did a night for a mattress run but it’s quite new, clean, friendly staff (ie. got 2 drinks at the bar instead of the one due for Gold) – seems to be used a lot for those in transit to further across Europe, but also those more local who’d come for the nearby beer festival when we were there (think: two confused Brits wondering why several locals were in fancy dress in the hotel reception & bar!) – easy free parking out back (not secured, almost shared with the Decathlon store behind). Don’t think there’s anything in Neunkirchen itself but we only got as far as the 3min walk across the road to Stumm’s Brauhaus , famed for its dumplings & other traditional fare plus of course it’s own beer. In the vicinity is “GONDWANA – Das Praehistorium” for those into dinosaurs & the like. Not much in nearby Homburg (and all the shops had shut by mid afternoon on a Saturday).
