£50 UK Novotel rooms at 5.50pm – and how to stack them

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The Novotel brand owned by Accor is, apparently, 50 years old this year.

To celebrate, they are launching a huge sale of £50 rooms TODAY ONLY – at 5.50pm, for 50 minutes.

Details are a little sketchy – see this page of the Novotel website for details.

Novotel Canary Wharf

What I have gleaned from elsewhere is that £50 rooms will be available in 34 UK Novotel properties, including London, between 5.50pm and 6.40pm today (Wednesday).

moneysavingexpert says that the stay dates will be 1st July to 28th January 2018.

According to the Daily Mirror, these are the hotels included.  I am not sure if this is just a cut and paste of every UK Novotel or not!

  • Novotel London Blackfriars
  • Novotel London Canary Wharf

  • Novotel Bristol Centre
  • Novotel Cardiff Centre

I reviewed the London property at Blackfriars last year.  It is very impressive and even has a decent pool.  The Canary Wharf hotel is brand new – it literally only opened a few weeks ago – and you would get a good result if you stayed there I’m sure.  I might even try to bag it for a review.

How to stack this with two current promotions

There are two deals which will stack with this offer and make your room even cheaper than £50.

Offer 1 – register here – gets you 500 bonus Accor points on your first UK Accor stay after registering and 1,000 extra Accor points on your 2nd UK Accor stay

Offer 2 – ‘triple or quadruple Accor points’ on every stay (full details in this article, register here) if you are staying before 3rd September

Full details of this offer are on the Novotel website here.

I wouldn’t seriously consider paying £50 RO for Novotel outside London, much better options available.without any hassles likely associated with this offer. For anybody trying to get a London hotel it might be better putting effort into securing Wembley than a more central property. The hotel itself is in reasonable shape, it’s on the pedestrian walkway to the stadium so low traffic noise, 3 minute walk to Wembley Park tube with Metropolitan and Jubilee lines which can get you into centre in 20 minutes, adjacent to small retail park which includes McDonalds and Lidl, 5 minutes walk to designer outlet with shops, cinema and resraurants, and a few minutes more to Wembley Stadium mainline station.

Someone has also posted it to the HUKD website and linked the links from the OTs article. Add in a couple of million users give or take 🙂

Also, it was being advertised on the large advertising screens at Waterloo Station, so Accor are clearly trying to make sure everyone knows about this. I might try for a room in Edinburgh in November for about 30 seconds after 5.50pm, but if I can’t get anything, I’ll give up fast.

    OT.
I am Platinum at IHG, however my partner has a better accelerate program , she has no status. If I book a room on her account and I am on the booking will we get the extra tier benefits?

    • Neil says:

Unlikely as Novotel is Accor… ;o)

    • Chris says:

      No

    • trickster says:

You can ask politely, but don;t be offended if turned down!

I had success with booking a free night on with wife’s standard account and then citing my Plat status got us lounge access.

    Dear Rob,

I’m currently abroad in a time zone GMT +3
the link you provided showed up as if the offer was actually on (between my local 5:50 – 6:40). I can confirm the list you provided are indeed the only hotels available for this offer.

No, I didn’t book it, as the price showed up as full price £249.

now it shows that I’ve missed the promotion so i’ll have to do it from a UK computer at the correct time

    Good Luck

    • Eli Gold says:

in fact if you change the time on your computer to the correct time it’ll show up as if the offer is on. I put it to European time

  • Aron says:

Bought tickets for European Champs in Glasgow next year, here’s hoping they do something similar in August! 😀

  • Eli Gold says:
