News in brief:

Virgin Atlantic launching its Winter sale today

Virgin Atlantic is launching its Winter sale today across its network, across all classes.

I don’t have a detailed list of prices – you will need to click here and see what is showing.

All I know is that Upper Class prices will start at £1289, Premium Economy at £632 and Economy at £359.  I will do another article in a few days when I have been able to see what is available.

The Virgin Atlantic Winter Sale site is here.

Double Avios with Charles Tyrwhitt

Shirt, suit and tie maker Charles Tyrwhitt generously donated a free £30 tie for every guest at our Christmas party on Tuesday.

The Tyrwhitt sale is now on.  Alongside this, British Airways is offering double Avios – that is 8 per £1 spent – on all Tyrwhitt purchases before 31st January.

Double Avios are not given automatically.  Buying online, you must use this link to access the CT website.  You must quote “exec17” when you buy in store, by phone or by mail order.

Earning miles on Airbnb stays

Tomorrow we are running a special competition with Japanese airline ANA, with a prize which would make a great Christmas gift for any aviation or science fiction fan.

Separately, ANA has joined the ranks of airlines offering miles for booking Airbnb stays.  You can earn up to 200 ANA miles when you book your Airbnb stays via ANA’s website.  The offer runs until the end of 2018.

This Head for Points article shows you how you can also earn miles with Delta and, for Australian residents only, Qantas via Airbnb.

If you are new to Airbnb, you can get £25 off your first £55+ stay via our referral link here.  If you book an ‘Airbnb for Business’ property you will also receive a £22 voucher off your second stay – full details here.
