American Express is running an exclusive competition with Hilton just for its Platinum charge card holders.  This means that your chances of winning are decent, especially as it is a niche prize.

On Saturday 24th March, Hilton is organising another sleepover at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.   This is to tie in with the Australian grand prix.

This is what you win:

Hilton Honors, Hilton’s award winning loyalty programme, is giving American Express Platinum Cardmembers a chance to win a unique money-can’t-buy sleepover experience at the state of the art McLaren Technology Centre (MTC).

You and your guest will have the chance to soak up the atmosphere from your very own Hilton Hotels & Resorts Bed, take part in a unique tour of the facility and in interactive activities throughout the night.

As the sun rises, the highly anticipated first race of the season will be broadcast live from Albert Park, Melbourne, with access to McLaren’s bespoke circuit-data feed, timing and telemetry systems straight from the track, brought to you by Hilton Honors and American Express.

When: Saturday, March 24, 2018 – Sunday, March 25, 2018
Where: McLaren Technology Centre, Woking, UK

This package includes:
One (1) night stay with breakfast in the McLaren Technology Centre in a Hilton Hotels & Resorts bed
Viewing of the first race of the 2018 season, including a live feed from the track and race debrief
Photo with one of McLaren’s race winning cars
Tour of the MTC
Screening of a car-themed movie on the Boulevard

This is well worth a look, especially if you have a child who is keen on Formula 1.  Entries must be received by Monday via this website here.   Remember that you MUST have an Amex Platinum card to enter.

  • Jo says:

DOES a supp card holder count

  • Andrew (@andrewseftel) says:

That’s an unusual domain name for a Hilton competition, the T&C’s link is broken and it’s registered to a chap in North London. Are we entirely sure it’s legit?

    • Tom1 says:

I had the same doubt, but given the very small 4 day entry window, if it was some kind of phishing exercise you would think it would be done further in advance without restriction. And saying it’s only for Platinum narrows the pool even more.

I took a gamble and did it – especially as it only asks for name email and phone- which isn’t much more than you put in your name on your post or your twitter profile.

      • Hunter says:

Looks a bit dodgy to me…

      • Andrew (@andrewseftel) says:

I wager you (or anyone else) would share much more if you received a call saying you’d won.

        • Bagoly says:

And if suspicions are correct, everyone will be a winner!
And so will be asked for more details.

Saying it’s only for Platinum raises the quality of victims, and thus value of their personal information.

The five day entry window (deliberately cut by notifying only for day three) and the three-day requirement to reply to the email notifying winning are more red flags.
“Tom” could be an unwitting victim, or part of the phishing.
Did that notification come in on Friday – thus to be run on Saturday when it is more difficult for Rob to get an answer from Amex or Hilton about whether this is genuine?

Jeremy Stern looks as though he may well be genuine.
But if this is phishing, the perpetrators can have just used his name.

    • Alan says:

Seems in line with previous promotions they’ve done and the broken/poor website is classic Hilton TBH! When they gave me tickets and hospitality to an Edinburgh it was totally disorganised so par for the course. I’m not entering though as prize is of zero interest to me.

    • Rob says:

On the balance of probabilities I thought it was.

    • Phil Huff says:

The domain is registered to Jeremy Stern, a director at Promo Veritas Ltd, which is a company that has worked for AmEx on multiple occasions.

      All seems fine to me.

  • Wally1976 says:

I would love this prize but don’t have a platinum card at the moment and not free that weekend anyway. Whoever wins won’t be making much use of the Hilton bed by the sounds of it!

  • Richard says:

Does this definitely require entrants to hold the Platinum Charge Card? The text just says “Platinum Cardmembers” – I have a Platinum Credit Card which the article would imply is not enough but I can’t see that it says that on the website itself.

  • TripRep says:

Rob – Couple of questions, apologies for the scrutiny…

    1) How did you get notified of this promotion?
    2) Do you know why a AMEX or Hilton domain is not hosting this?

Folks – I’d hold off applying unless you can find a link to it from either Hilton or AMEX.

    • Rob says:

It was in the comments the other day that it was on FB and a regular reader sent me the link last night when it popped up again.

      • TripRep says:

Hmmm, so no official info from Hilton or Amex?

It should be easy to quickly google to find if this is genuine, my searches havent pulled anything that correlates with it being a live active promo from Amex/Hilton.

Unless folks have a reliable confirmed source for this I’d still advise against entering

      • Jimmy says:

FB ?? Really? You trust FB as a source?

      • Rob says:

I know, which is why I ran it.

      • Jimmy says:

A tad disingenuous Rob. You never mentioned (or referred to) TripRep’s link previously. Your rationale for posting this article was (in your own words) “it was on FB”.

        • Rob says:

No, because I posted the original auction on social (not sure if I put it on here) when it launched. I look at the Hilton auction site every day.

  • Mikee says:

This competition was launched last month for any Hilton member and ended on 28th Feb – https://insideflyer.co.uk/2018/02/win-a-vip-sleepover-experience-with-hilton-honors-and-mclaren/

The link in the article to the Hilton entry page is now dead but this new link does seem a bit strange. I would also expect this promo to appear on the Platinum Amex cardmember offers page (not sure as I only have Gold Amex).

  • Alan says:

Damn, was excited when I saw the headline as I thought the competition was going to be for some Hilton points 🙁

  • Dave says:

Goodwood are running a competition on their Facebook page with the same prize. As others have commented why restrict the entry to this one to platinum card holders if it is a scam.

    • Bagoly says:

So that the quality of the information stolen through ‘phone calls resulting from promoentries.com is higher?
(Higher credit limits means more opportunity to steal before detection)
