Your last chance to win a pair of Heathrow Express Business First return train tickets

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Heathrow Express has kindly given us five pairs of Business First return tickets, worth £110 per pair, to give away this week.

We thought it would be fun to try something new. Instead of doing one competition giving away five pairs we have run five separate competitions, one each (week)day this week, giving away one pair of Business First tickets.

Further down this article you can find the Gleam widget to enter today’s competition which happens to be your last chance to win a pair of Heathrow Express Business First tickets.

About Heathrow Express

There are quite a few options when travelling from central London to Heathrow Airport. The Piccadilly line is probably the cheapest option, but takes the longest and can be very busy at times.

Heathrow Connect takes 30 minutes from Paddington to Terminal 2 and 3 and to reach Terminal 4 or 5 you need to change trains.

Heathrow Express takes just 15 minutes from Paddington to Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3, with an extra five minutes to Terminal 5, and runs every 15 minutes. There is free wifi on board and power sockets by each seat. Unlike the tube there is a lot of storage space for luggage – if you’ve ever been on the Piccadilly line with your suitcase during rush hour, this should be reason enough to consider Heathrow Express.

The other advantages of Heathrow Express are:

You can learn about the benefits of Business First on this page of the Heathrow Express website. These include priority carriages, ensuring a quick arrival and departure from the platform, increased privacy and leg room, and complimentary magazines and newspapers. You can stay connected with at-seat power and spacious worktables.

How to enter the competition

Heathrow Express has given us five pairs of Business First return tickets to give away. These are valid for travel until 31st December 2018.

We have been giving away one pair each (week)day this week.

The pair do not have to be used at the same time, so you can have two Business First trips yourself if you do not want to use the tickets for you and a friend / partner travelling together.

There will be a new article each day with the Gleam widget to enter. If you have already entered on a previous day, entries from previous days will NOT be carried forward. If you want a chance of winning today you need to enter again. The full T&Cs in the widget below.

You are limited to one entry per person. You MUST have a UK postal address in order to enter, as we will be posting you a paper ticket, although we won’t ask for it unless you win. There are no other geographic restrictions on entering.

If you can’t see the widget below or are reading this on your mobile, here is the link to enter. Good luck.

Thanks, this has been very helpful

    • Rob says:

      Thanks, can use this tomorrow.

      • Save East Coast Rewards says:

Just a note I’ve clarified in my article that the TfL Rail service won’t run 4 trains per hour to Heathrow at the start. That was the intention but as there’s still issues to be resolved with the new trains and the Heathrow tunnel they can’t run them to Heathrow yet. So until that is resolved TfL will used the current Connect trains (every 30 mins) and the other two slots will be used for testing the new trains but they can only run as far as Hayes

    • Save East Coast Rewards says:

I’ve updated to include the Off-peak fares, it was only the peak fares available when I put the article together. The off-peak fares are decent. £6 for all points west of Paddington to Heathrow

  • Genghis says:

If I have a zone 1-3 travel card on my Oyster, would I likely just then be charged the £7.30 fare to LHR/HXX?

  • Nick says:

All week you’ve got this wrong!! Heathrow Connect runs to T5 Mon-Sat and T4 on Sundays. No need to change at Central!

    • Rob says:

You should have told us on Monday 🙂

      • Save East Coast Rewards says:

They don’t publicise the fact that the Heathrow Connect often goes to T5. Officially it serves T2&3 and sometimes carries on to T4 (mainly Sundays). It doesn’t usually display on the station departure boards that the train is going to T5 but the automated announcements on the train will tell you.

Basically what happens is when the Connect is not running to T4 it’ll go and wait on the spare platform at T5 so it’s not blocking the through tracks at T2&3. Originally the train ran empty between T2&3 and T5. Now passengers are allowed to travel on this service but they deliberately don’t promote it. It’s there for those of us who know about it and anyone boarding the HC expecting to have to change will get a nice surprise if it’s going to T5.

I suspect as the sponsor of the prize HEX probably wouldn’t want you drawing too much attention to this 🙂

        • Nick says:

I catch it every day in both directions and they absolutely do announce it! It’s always been announced on the train, and now it’s on the station boards too. Agree about the occasional reroute, but it’s uncommon.
Actually more common are frequent cancellations (one unit has been out all this week) but that’s another question!
