Etihad is offering a special 10% World Cup consolation discount to anyone booking before 15th July.

You need to fly from Manchester or Heathrow, in any class, between 1st September and 31st March 2019.

You need to use promo code WORLDENG on the Etihad booking site here.  Note that the discount only applies to the base fare, not taxes, and so will have a small overall impact on Economy tickets.  Business fares will probably see an 8%-ish discount on the gross fare.

Blackout dates apply: no outbound travel between 10 December to 24 December 2018 and no inbound travel between 1 September to 12 September 2018 and 29 December 2018 to 13 January 2019.

Multi-city bookings do not qualify.

In addition, if you are not already an Etihad Guest member, you can sign up here and receive 500 bonus miles.

Your best option to maximise your miles when paying is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold.  This offers double points – 2 per £1 – when you when you book flight tickets directly with an airline.  Our review of Amex Gold is here.

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Etihad Guest does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Etihad Guest miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Etihad Guest miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Etihad Guest mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it.

  • Troll Basher says:

” If you booked the amazing £1360 Manchester to Auckland business class deal earlier this year, check your bookings as you may want to change your seat selection.
The latest deliveries of A350-900 aircraft are coming . The first batch do not. Both have 36 seats in Business Class so Qatar Airways may decide that it can easily mix and match – if you’re lucky, you might get it. That said, the herringbone layout on the other A350-900 in Business Class is pretty good too.”

It’s infuriating that an increasing number of HfP articles aren’t proof-read to ensure that all sentences are complete and that relevant links are inserted.
    Come on guys.
