Accor Hotels, which owns Novotel / Ibis / Mercure / M Gallery / Sofitel / Pullman / Raffles / Swissotel / Fairmont etc, has brought back its generous promotion to earn 6,000 bonus Accor points.

You will earn 6,000 Accor Live Limitless points (worth 6,000 Avios or a variable pile of other airline miles, or €120 of hotel stays) if you complete three x two night stays at Accor properties between 29th March and 25th April.

earn 6,000 Avios or Accor hotel points (or €120) for 3 x 2-night stays

That is clearly a decent deal, although the two night restriction per stay could be tricky. The short 4-week promo period is also frustrating, as is the fact that the booking window closes (on 28th March) before the stay window starts (from 29th March).

If you can make it work around your work or leisure plans, however, you are looking at a good result – especially for stays at cheaper Accor brands.

You must book your stays between now and 28th March and you must register first.

You need to book via the Accor website or a corporate travel agent. Stays booked via hotel wholesalers such as Expedia, Hotels.com, booking.com etc will not count.

Existing bookings do NOT count. These need to be cancelled and rebooked.  Only bookings made after you have registered (link here) are eligible.

How to register

You MUST register for this promotion via the offer website here.

Accor 6000 points promotion

What is the bonus?

The bonus is dropped into your Accor account in the form of 6,000 Accor Live Limitless points:

  • Your first 2-night stay comes with 500 bonus points
  • Your second 2-night stay comes with 2,500 bonus points
  • Your third 2-night stay comes with 3,000 bonus points

Whilst the Accor website for this promotion focuses on taking points, you can convert your 6,000 bonus points (plus base points) into airline miles. For the main programmes we write about, the conversion rates are:

  • Flying Blue 2:1
  • British Airways Executive Club Avios: 2:1
  • Iberia Avios: 1:1 (so don’t convert to BA!)
  • Emirates Skywards: 2:1
  • Etihad Guest: 2:1
  • Miles & More: 2:1

The secret with converting to Avios is to send them to an Iberia Plus account to get the higher 1:1 conversion rate.  You can then use ‘Combine My Avios’ to move them to British Airways Executive Club.

You can’t transfer out of Iberia Plus accounts until they are 90 days old, so if you open one specifically for this offer then you might have a slight delay before you can move the Avios across.

6000 bonus Accor points

Should you take Avios or Accor Live Limitless points?

Our main article on what we think Accor Live Limitless points are worth is here.

Whilst 6,000 Avios is certainly attractive, you need to remember that by converting to Avios in the Iberia programme, you are effectively ‘paying’ 2 Eurocents per Avios compared to taking €120 in Accor hotel vouchers.  The hotel vouchers are therefore a better deal unless you have no plans to use them.

In all of the other airline schemes you are paying 4 Eurocents per mile which is very poor.  If you are not primarily an Avios collector I would seriously suggest taking the €120 of vouchers instead.

There is also a third factor.

Accor has recently stepped up its series of UK ‘Experiences’ events. These packages tend to offer great value and you may want to hold onto your points to see what comes along in 2023. We covered the Accor redemption options for BST Hyde Park concert tickets last week.

You can find full details of the offer, and the link to register, on the Accor website here.

Remember that bookings must be made by 28th March and you need to complete your stays by 25th April.

  • Stuart says:

Accor have run this deal before but was the booking window (from now for two weeks) and the stay period (four weeks) this short before? I don’t recall it being this restrictive in the past.

  • dahokolomoki says:

Super restrictive – really only good for those who have regular business travel coming up in April, and thus haven’t locked in their hotel bookings yet.

  • Lady London says:

    Poor.
If they are going to give such a short stay period then few people will be able to do 6 nights as 3*2Nights in the 4 weeks allowed.

So I’m certainly not getting out of bed if the incentive on the first 2-night stay is only 10 euros. Really?

I can regularly get more rhan that off a 1-night stay with a lot of Accor hotels just by booking with the likes of Expedia instead of direct with Accor as well.

  • BlueThroughCrimp says:

Accor related, just a thanks for the heads up to the Ibis Business card.
Had a Fairmont Gold booking at the Banff Springs, and was given an upgrade to a Mountain View room. Luck or Business Card, I don’t know, but worth the £65.
Just waiting for the points to post, it’s been 4 days since check out now.

    • Rob says:

Happy to help. Should be a decent Gold bonus to your points total too, which has a real cash value (assuming you booked direct and it qualifies).

      • BlueThroughCrimp says:

Points have indeed now posted this afternoon. Nearly 1700 Gold Accelerator on top, so pretty much half the card cost back.
        Thanks again.

  • Sandy says:

I don’t have a firm date yet. So can I book a refundable stay during the promo period and then change the dates, would I still get the points?

    • Rob says:

No, you can’t change dates – you would be cancelling and rebooking
