A few days ago, after an unexpected delay, Marriott Rewards launched its ‘daily play’ game ’29 Ways to Stay’.

The good news is that daily play now means daily win.

There are 2 MILLION prizes to be won, although most are just 50 Marriott Rewards points.  There is a huge grand prize where one person wins a 2-night stay at EVERY Marriott brand – that is 29 stays in hotel.

The game launched with confusion. The game implied that you could try to win an instant prize every day.  It turned out, however, that the game was only letting you win once – ever.  All future daily plays got you another entry in the grand draw but no more daily prizes.

Marriott has now changed the rules / fixed their dodgy IT (delete as applicable).  You can now play ’29 Ways to Stay’ each day and you could win a prize each day for another three weeks.

The daily prizes are:

  • 87 prizes of 4-night hotel stays (3 winners per brand, you don’t get to choose the brand you get)
  • 75,000 DAILY prizes of 50 Marriott Rewards points
  • 5,000 DAILY prizes of 500 Marriott Rewards points
  • 2,500 DAILY prizes of 1,000 Marriott Rewards points
  • 500 DAILY prizes of 2,000 Marriott Rewards points
  • 250 DAILY prizes of 3,000 Marriott Rewards points
  • 100 DAILY prizes of 4,000 Marriott Rewards points
  • 75 DAILY prizes of 5,000 Marriott Rewards points
  • 50 DAILY prizes of 10,000 Marriott Rewards points
  • 16 DAILY prizes of 20,000 Marriott Rewards points

Marriott states that it expects you to have a 50/50 chance each day of winning a prize.

The link to play is here.  Good luck.

O/T. Hoping to travel to SCL in Business Class this time next year on my own shilling. Any recommendations (not BA) and suggestions when the best price might be available, please?
    Thanks in advance

    • Peter K says:

Is that from Nairobi using Kenyan Shillings? ????

      • Peter K says:

More seriously, Iberia are meant to have a good business seat long haul. 6 months out is a good time to look for decent fare prices long haul, or in a sale.

Check prices now to get a baseline for future reference.

        • Leafwarbler says:

Thanks, Peter K. Used Iberia about 6 years ago flying to Panama; it was very comfortable. I have a tendency to book too early, but my dates are quite flexible so I’ll try and wait.

      • John says:

        No, from the 1960s

    • Andrew MS says:

Even if you have to buy Avios from Iberia for Madrid to SCL its going to cost about £1k in J class return . They were good on my trip to Bogota

  • Alan says:

I live in the UK, but spend alot of time in ireland, ive been playing the game from ireland and won 2x 50 points, hope they post to my account

  • Jordie says:

I have never used my Marriott account, not stayed at a property just reset my password and logged in. Played the game for the first time and won 10,000 points.

  • Czechoslovakia says:

CSA Czech Airlines offers you to upgrade to full business class dining for around £12 a segment when in Y. Hot meal, 3 courses and 3 drinks. Well worth it.

  • Marcw says:

Using Uber in Spain is almost like a tourist trap. Local residents mainly use Cabify

    • Sussex bantam says:

In Barcelona and just downloaded Cabify. Much better than Uber. Thanks for the tip !

  • Andrew MS says:

I am feeling jammy as Qatar have changed from an A340 to an A380 and my seat, 30J, is now an overwing emergency exit on the upper deck ! Do you think Qatar are likely to take it off me ? Overwing rows are meant to be blocked off until check in . I am 6 ft 6 and need the legroom .
Has anyone any recent experience of reasonably priced cash upgrades from Y to J at the airport ? Doha to BKK

  • Neil says:

I can’t add my Curve card to Cabify, which I agree is very good. Has anyone else had an issue with this. (I find that Curve sometimes works with Uber, and sometimes does not.)

    • Graham Walsh says:

Issue with the pre-auth that happens?

    • Mark E says:

I was in Spain this summer and I couldn’t add Curve to Cabify. I checked this with Curve and they confirmed that it was not possible. I could however use Curve with Uber in Spain.

  • Benylin says:

Second try today won 500 pts! Previously won 50 few days back. Great! 550 points balance now ????
