You can save on new luxury hotels in Asia with Mastercard and Be The First.

Be The First, if you haven’t heard of it before, is a website specialised in offering discounted rooms at new luxury and boutique hotels.

We covered it a couple a years ago when it launched but, to be honest, I thought it had faded away.

I was wrong, and to prove it the company has recently partnered  with Mastercard, offering cardholders even better prices at new upscale hotels in Asia.

Offers vary depending on the property and could be for example 30% off or stay 3 pay 3 nights.  All hotels included can be found on this special partner website here. More hotels will be added as the partnership advances.

Half OT (spending my daily 50 Marriott points)- is there currently 5 nights for 4 on reward nights at ‘SPG’ hotels (I’m looking at a stay in April)? And do you get 5 for 4 on cash+points bookings? Thanks.

    • Mark says:

yeah you get 5 for 4 on cash and points bookings, i recently did this as it shows you the cash rate and some of the nights were $140 so didn’t make sense to pay 50k points per night.

      • Matt says:

Thanks. I’ll need to do my sums. I don’t have masses of points so a “5 for 4” c+p booking would increase my choice of hotel. So rare for me to stay 5 nights in one place…

  • Lady London says:

***** sweepstake entry on Marriott again today. Even though I got all the pairs on first click.

Not sure this is worth the time.

    • where2travel says:

I’ve also had this for the last few days.

“Thank you for playing 29 Ways to Stay today. By playing, you’ve received an entry into the 29 Ways to Stay Sweepstakes.”

    • Jon says:

Well I mean, it takes 20 seconds tops so you might as well! I’ve got a sweepstakes entry a couple of times too, but have also won several instances of 50 points, as well as 500 and 1000 points!

  • Whizz68 says:

OT: Just as a reference point, I’ve received a letter today saying my application for the Miles and More Diners credit has been declined.

    • Rob says:

I wouldn’t be happy if that happened to me (not applied yet) given my need to preserve my M&M miles ….

  • BJ says:

OK, budget coming up, could this be the one where they cut APD? …brexit, UK open for business and all that stuff?

  • Liz says:

OT Free chocolate or sweets to the value of £2.50 from the site that cannot be named on here. In the app go to in-store then groceries – valid till 4/11 for first 10k customers. Scan your till receipt – normally pays out in a couple of days. Happy Monday! ????

    • BJ says:

Come down to Edinburgh and we will share a £5 box of Godiva lions. I guess you are already planing your trip to Edinburgh for small shops.

      • Liz says:

We do our small shop in St Andrews every year. – lots of good shops there! Although we will be in Edinburgh on the 12th for a show.

  • Thomas Howard says:

Slightly OT: Is there a website that will tell you your fare code from your confirmation/reservation reference and surname? I’ve tried CheckMyTrip and Kayak but they’re only giving me the class not the letter (F,J,O,..)? I’m trying to work out whether a future booking is lowest, low, flexible economy to check whether I’m going to make my tier point target.

Completely OT: What happens to a booking where a codeshare partner goes out of business? Does the ticketing airline have any obligations to arrange alternative travel?

Also, thanks to Rob and Ghengis for previous replies to my other queries on lounges and Amex referrals!

  • mark e says:

Thank you to everyone who replied

  • Quinten says:

for example 30% off or stay 3 pay 3 nights.

Is that even a promotion? Stay 3, pay 3?
