  re Plat/Gold points for extra spend.
  On my (dormant) Platinum I will get 500MR for spending £300, but unusually the offer is for the account i.e. includes supplementaries, rather than on one card. I doubt that it is just on my account.

  Am on Delta one but seems lime If I accept a lower class I get no compensation for this? Any way to get.home without ending up paying 2k for an economy seat??

    US domestic connection to US TATL – missed connection, same PNR, they’ll get you on the next available flight. (Not the same PNR, you’re stuffed.) If it’s Delta US—>LHR, then it’s covered by EC261, so involuntary downgrade could apply, 75% compo, might be debatable. Ie you go now in a lower class with no compo, or you can wait until your higher class fare becomes available. Which might be in 2 days etc.

      Next in line to see agent. I need to be back for trip this weekend so I’d take the downgrade if necessary then i guess argue it later and hope for best

      Either way guess delay compensation applies if>4hrs which would at least soften the blow for downgrade..

        Rebooked BNA-JFK-LHR, I have a short connection at JFK and need to switch terminals. I have a vague notion this can all be done airside is that right? I’m clearly screwed if not but if it works I’m happy, rebooked on DL3 in J and will arrive 4hrs 5mins behind provided the Jetstream doesn’t barge in where it isn’t welcome

        I’d be proactive and get on google flights to look for acceptable options for you. It generally works best if you approach agent with a solution (including flight numbers) than let them pick for you. American airlines are generally happy to rebook on anything you can find within their alliance. Eg. I’m seeing options to route through Atlanta & JFK in Business on Delta tonight or even overnight at JFK and take morning Virgin flight in Upper Class. Other options include connecting via CDG or other European hubs.

      Hate to be the bearer of bad news but this isn’t covered by EC261. Flights into the EU on non-EU airlines aren’t covered. This is actually quite a big plus point for flying BA back to the UK as opposed to AA (or Virgin over Delta).

        EU261 is the ONLY reason I’m flying BA back to the uk on my next trip. No other reason. Otherwise I’d be on AA 77W ..
