Marriott has launched a special promotion exclusively for Head for Points readers.

To celebrate the merger of Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest into the new (still unnamed) loyalty programme, Marriott is offering a special points bonus if you book a long weekend in Europe this Autumn.

This offer runs in addition to the current Autumn bonus points promotion (article is here and you can register here).  This special HfP bonus is on top of your standard points, any elite status bonus AND the 2,000 bonus points you would earn from the ‘MegaBonus In More Places’ offer.

What’s the deal?

Until 9th October 2018, you will get 10,000 bonus points when booking a long weekend stay at select hotels in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Florence, Geneva, London, Milan, Nice, Paris, Rome, Vienna or Zurich.

The special booking page is here.  You must book by 9th October and complete your stay by 31st March 2019

We would value 10,000 bonus points at £50+ so this is a generous rebate, especially as you receive all of your standard and promotional points too.

How to earn 10,000 bonus points

You will earn 10,000 bonus points when booking a two night or longer weekend stay – which must include a Thursday night or a Monday night – at select hotels using a promotional code.

To clarify how this works:

A Thursday to Saturday 2-night stay is OK

A Sunday to Tuesday 2-night stay is OK

A Wednesday to Friday or Monday to Wednesday 2-night stay is NOT OK because it doesn’t cover a weekend night

A Friday to Sunday 2-night stay is NOT OK because it doesn’t include a Thursday or Monday

I hope that makes sense!

The promotional code you need to use on the Marriott website is MR6.

The rate you get should be the same as the cheapest available generally, eg the Member Prepay and Save rate.

The hotels included in this offer are:

Amsterdam – Marriott Amsterdam

Amsterdam – Renaissance Amsterdam

Barcelona – Autograph Collection Cotton House

Barcelona – Renaissance Barcelona

Barcelona – Hotel Arts Barcelona

Florence – AC Firenze

Geneva – Ritz-Carlton Geneva

London – Marriott London Grosvenor Square

London – Marriott Hotel County Hall

You need to book by 9th October for stays until 31st March 2019.  You can earn a maximum of 100,000 bonus points from this promotion.

Regarding the HSBC world elite card matter above, I have some advice. I’ve found that charm and requests for sympathy go a long way with premier associates in general, as opposed to any sort of forcefulness or complaining.

In August, just by asking nicely and pointing out it would be really helpful for an upcoming family holiday, they made my 40k welcome bonus appear in time to take advantage of the 25% conversion bonus.

  • Lauren says:

When you’ve produced your first deposit you’ll get a good corresponding benefit, as may you along with your next and next deposit together.
