Macdonald Hotels closes “The Club” loyalty scheme – what happens to your points?

Macdonald Hotels has closed “The Club”.

I wouldn’t want to suggest that the Macdonald Hotels loyalty scheme, The Club, had failed to make an impact, but it appears that it closed on 5th December without anyone noticing.

As per this FAQ page of the Macdonald Hotels website, any existing The Club points you have need to be redeemed by 31st March.  It is also not possible to book reward nights for dates after 31st March.

Macdonald Hotels has launched a new scheme called ‘Instant Rewards’.  This is not points driven, but instead offers special incentives to people who book properties such as The Bath Spa Hotel, pictured above, direct via the Macdonald website.

I once had my shoes stolen at The Bath Spa Hotel when I put them out for a shoeshine, but that is a story for another day …..

OT: Has anyone been to Plaza Premium T4 Arrivals recently? Wondered if they fixed their kitchen issues since Nov/Dec because they weren’t serving any hot food then. Wondering whether to go there or T2. Thanks

I did find the service at Plaza premium T4 to be excellent. However, I’m not sure if the the kitchen issues have been fixed.

      • Andy says:

Oh yes the service is second to none there and the menu is great if the kitchen is working. I think it must count as one of the best arrival lounges on Priority Pass.

Promised I would get back on the Phenergan sleeping pills for long haul flight sleep comfort (somebody said give them a go), I got them online a few days ago, basically a few ‘pharmacy questions online (a couple seconds) then over the counter’, no prescription needed google phenergan online pharmacy – arrived fine & a legit operation.

25g rather than 10g must be the way to go unless you are very slight. They are very effective, got drowsy & off to sleep straight away. Cat yowling to be let out in the night plus taking a leak woke me up twice in the night but I was straight back to sleep afterwards with a drowsy/ heavy head. I got the full 8 hrs sleep in and could have gone on another hour. No hungover after effects for me.

So definitely worth thinking about if you struggle to sleep on long haul. Excellent resource for big insomniacs like me, surprised they are not prescription drugs actually.

Doubt I’ll be needing any of those. Fell asleep on a plane with seat in upright position whilst it was still parked at the gate af SFO, next thing I knew they were asking me if I wanted breakfast … way to fly 🙂

    OT – Curve….

Has anyone’s pending Amex Curve topups that dropped off been put through again yet? It’s 11 days since my topup now and still nothing.

OT: Can you apply for an ‘additional card’ for yourself for BAPP like the Platinum?
