Get triple Hilton Honors points on your next stay with this special link.

Hilton Honors has been sending out targeted offers to some members who have not stayed recently.  I got one myself, offering 5,000 bonus points if I complete a two-night stay before the end of June.

This link – click here – leads to another option: triple points on your next stay before 30th June.

Hilton triple points

It seems that anyone can register for this offer, even if they did not receive the email.  The points are posting successfully looking at reports online.  It is up to you whether you want to sign up despite not being targeted, but so far the triple points seem to be arriving without any trouble.

Triple points helps make up for the fact that, with the new ‘Go More, Get More’ promotion (article here) you DON’T get double points on your first stay after 6th May – only stays 2+!

The link to register is here if you want to give it a go.

    OT,,
Re current BAEC deal buying Avios – is there normally 1 (or more) annual opportunities to purchase Avios via BAEC ?
(May have been overlooked if posted in original 2 threads, sorry)

    • Shoestring says:

Typically at least 2 a year from BAEc and 2 a year from IB

Easy enough to buy 1.2m each @1p & change per annum

    • Rob says:

No shortage of 1p offers – even if this doesn’t return (and it may well) you will get similar offers via Iberia or Aer Lingus, or the Groupon Spain offer.

  • Liam says:

Excellent news about Rhys joining; I enjoyed his articles, and look forward to reading more in the months and years to come!

    • Shoestring says:

      yep attaboy Rhys 🙂

    • Mike says:

+1 Welcome back to Rhys- I really enjoyed the quality of his articles last year…… I enjoy his style. How about some more articles from Cat too – she was brilliant over the BH weekend – very well suited to reviewing first class products………..

      • Cat says:

Welcome back Rhys! I’m looking forward to the articles and (fingers crossed) the summer party! Try not to let the tabloid boys lead you astray again!
Thanks Mike – I’m always happy to drink all the Champagne (in the name of research, of course).

    • Rhys says:

      Thank you all!

      • Sundar says:

Welcome back Rhys, nice to have met you in the HfP party, which reminds us – @Rob – Whens the summer one ? Bigger better you promised 🙂

        • Rob says:

When I get back from Oman we are onto it …

          • Sapiens says:

Oman is phenomenal I got back recently. I seem to remember you mentioning it before but let me know if you have any questions.

Well worth the Business Traveller subscription for the Discovery upgrades at Kempinski & Anantaras.

          • Rob says:

I asked Marriott nicely and they offered me three nights at the Al Bustan ….

          • Sapiens says:

Al Bustan is phenomenal but with one huge caveat (that you won’t face Rob, but writing here for the benefit of other readers)

We (gold) paid full price (no redemption) but our room was embarrassingly dated (think 4* hotel in Shenzhen in 2003) and the entire floor smelt of goat. Called reception. We hadn’t realised but many floors have not been refurbished. The refurbed rooms are good. The unrefurbed rooms are v disappointing.

Kempinski Muscat is great as its in the nice marina for the early morning boats to go snorkling with whale sharks, which is a must-do imo.

          • Shoestring says:

Goat? You must have been on the single guys’ wing

  • David says:

Does the Hilton 3x points stay require a new booking? Have a stay this Friday as my first stay for the 2x from your second stay offer.

    • Anthony says:

I signed up during a stay last weekend and the points posted. So you should hopefully be ok

      • BJ says:

Existing reservations have always counted for promotions in my experience.

  • Sapiens says:

    Welcome back Rhys

    • BJ says:

+1, good choice as your articles were sound last time around. Hope it all goes well for you, and that Rob gives you a little more freedom and scope to develop your own angles than his original advert suggested might be the case.

      • HR says:

Having read Rob’s update, I’m not sure the original advert applies? Is Rhys receiving the £40k salary etc (for a limited term) ?

    • Lyn says:

+1 Welcome back Rhys. A lot of HfPers will be very glad to see Rob’s announcement. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you post university if you are as interested in the aviation world as you previous well-written articles and Rob’s comments suggest. And a win for Rob and HfP readers as well.

  • Boi says:

I only got the 5000 offer. Hubby has both. For some reason Hilton likes him. He had had triple points since October last year- it’s not once off. Despite staying every month he also hit 5000 come back offer. I am not complaining….

    • Fraser says:

I was targeted for the Hilton offer despite my last stay with them being only 2 weeks ago 🤷‍♂️

    • Oh Matron! says:

I’m trying this weekend in Boston, and originally got the 5K points on next stay. I’ll let you know if it stacks with this (and the current 2x points offer)

  • Rui N. says:

OT: stayed at an Hilton this past weekend, using my Amex offer (£75 off £250).
When checking in got the email from Amex saying I’ve used the offer when the charge went into pending.
In the meantime the charge dropped off, and now that I’ve checked out, the hotel doesn’t seem eager to charge me the money. Given that the Amex offer ends up in 7 days, what can I do to speed up the hotel and their billing process? Give them a call?

    • John says:

I am sure the hotel charged you on check out. It may take 2-3 days to show up.

If you wanted more certainty, you should have asked the hotel to charge, not just authorise, the amount of the stay on the relevant card at check in. Then if they still required an authorisation, you could have given a different card. If you needed to spend at the hotel to make up the £250, you could always have paid on the spot (at the cost of forfeiting some HH points I suppose)

    • Dave says:

I had the same problem. Just emailed the hotel and asked them to take the payment.

    • Rich says:

Just call Amex Customer Services if the transaction is delayed, I had an issue in Spain recently where the charge came from the franchisee/resort name rather than mentioning Hilton, I therefore didn’t get the standard ‘you’ve used your offer’ e-mail and the £75 refund didn’t post – CS fixed it within 24hrs

    • Rui N. says:

Thank you for your answers. I’m almost positive that they didn’t charge me at checkout, it has been 2 days and it doesn’t show anywhere: pending or confirmed, nor the credit available has changed.
I gave the relevant card at check-in and told them to use that one to pay. Don’t know what more certainty could I have.

      • Luthar says:

I got the email at check in on Monday and I’ll be checking out on Friday. Are we saying there’s a risk that the payment won’t clear in time?

        • Rui N. says:

I would make sure they process the payment when you check out.

  • Alex says:

Early OT: any advice on what I can do with my 4 yr old’s 850 bonvoy points that she earned from last year’s Marriott giveaway when they celebrated merger with spg? The points are to expire in a month…

    • Anna says:

Does a transfer extend the expiry date? If so it’s very easy to call and ask for the points to be moved to another account.

    • Jane says:

Glad to hear I’m not the only one with this problem. My daughter has just over 10k. Are children actually allowed to collect points?? She enjoyed playing but I’d assumed they’d just have to expire, however if there’s an alternative…

      • Rob says:

Just transfer them to your account. Requires calling Marriott but transfer is free.

  • Anna says:

OT – has anyone had experience of cancelling a paid booking with Marriott? I made a booking recently and Marriott charged my credit card even though it wasn’t supposed to be a pre-paid reservation. I couldn’t be bothered to contact them so just cancelled the booking. I got a confirmation email but 3 days later no sign of a refund. How long does it normally take?
