Get triple Hilton Honors points on your next stay with this special link.

Hilton Honors has been sending out targeted offers to some members who have not stayed recently.  I got one myself, offering 5,000 bonus points if I complete a two-night stay before the end of June.

This link – click here – leads to another option: triple points on your next stay before 30th June.

Hilton triple points

It seems that anyone can register for this offer, even if they did not receive the email.  The points are posting successfully looking at reports online.  It is up to you whether you want to sign up despite not being targeted, but so far the triple points seem to be arriving without any trouble.

Triple points helps make up for the fact that, with the new ‘Go More, Get More’ promotion (article here) you DON’T get double points on your first stay after 6th May – only stays 2+!

The link to register is here if you want to give it a go.

Welcome back Rhys. Hope you enjoy your time at HfP and that you find genuine encouragement from us readers. Go for it !

  • Neil says:

For the record, the triple Hilton points offer is currently showing on my account as valid until March 2020. For those who know they have a big stay coming up, it might be worth holding off. Sadly I activated mine last weekend and it triggered without any problems but the stay was only £185.00.

    P.s – Welcome back Rhys

    • Peter K says:

I’ve just checked t&c’s at the bottom after registering and says a paid stay must be made by 30th June 2019. Not sure if that is just for me or everyone.

  • Bal says:

Can this Hilton promo be used alongside the Go more, Get more promo? Ie. Using one won’t affect the other?

  • AS says:

OT There are currently two promos for Harvey Nichols running on AmEx (Plat) simultaneously – £20 off £100 and £30 off £100.

Does anyone know what happens if both trigger at the same time, if not, which gets trigger first?

    Also, welcome back Rhys!

    • Tom W says:

Was just going to post this! Got both on the Gold Card – Be interested to know the answer

    • Charlieface says:

Has happened before with other offers. Normally both will credit. Must be some bug in targeting

    • MinR says:

      Same

      • MinR says:

I’ve just spent > £100 at HN online, and I’ve only received a confirmation email that I’ve redeemed £30 off £100 offer. Hopefully the other one posts too in the next couple of days.

        • Tom W says:

Just purchased and got both emails straight away. Only on one card sadly

  • Tilly says:

Good timing with the triple Hilton points offer. Have a 2 night stay this weekend which wouldn’t count for the other offer as first stay from 6th May. Thank you!

    Also welcome back Rhys!

  • slonik says:

    Welcome back, Rhys!

OT: Any advice on where to channel my spend next? Am struggling to work it out post the Amex changes. I am about to hit my 2for1 voucher target on my BAPP. I still have 18 months before I can re-apply for Gold Amex and get a bonus. I am putting non-Amex spend onto legacy Hilton card, but don’t necessarily want to go over £10K a year on it (which is needed to retain gold status). I also have the free Virgin cc following recent bonus but am unlikely to fly long haul with Virgin any time soon.

    • Tilly says:

I’m in exactly same position. Considering putting spend through Virgin cc and transfer points to Hilton. Would be interested in advice here though.

      • Shoestring says:

I think Virgin is a good option – no need to worry about immediate use as they’re very easy to keep alive. Plus there could be some decent short haul opps coming up once we can start redeeming Virgin miles on Air France and KLM flights in Europe. Not getting my hopes up too much as AF/ KLM is quite expensive on redemptions vs BA RFS. But they do run lots of discount points offers every month so you never know what might come up.

As Tilly says – you can always use Virgin miles for hotel points as well.

    • Rob says:

Can you get an Amex for your partner / parent and issue yourself a supp on it? Would be an option.

Miles & More is only really worth it if you can get to a high level for long-haul business rewards. The IHG card would be an option.

If you own your own business, look at Capital on Tap seriously.

      • slonik says:

Are there earnings/salary eligibility criteria for Amex Gold (now that it’s a credit card rather than a change card)? I.E. would a low earner still be likely to get approved for one?

        • Charlieface says:

Apparently even people with no income but having ‘other family income’ are accepted. It would be best to declare a job as Housewife/husband, not unemployed.

          • Gavin says:

If you’re not employed but have income from other sources (as is my case) you can put “independent income”. I’ve never been declined, but it sometimes goes to manual approval.

        • Rob says:

Amex moved from income to affordability as its measure of acceptance. If you live with your parents and earn £10k you are arguably more likely to be accepted now than someone earning £30k but having no money left each month after mortgage / rent and bills.

    • AndyW says:

If you still hold a BA Amex i’m pretty sure you are not 18 months until you can get a gold bonus since you have to have had no Amex for 24 months.

      • slonik says:

D’oh, fair point, I had misread the new rules. Though I think I would get a bonus on the Platinum card in 18 months as that bonus does not seem to be linked to BAPP. Of course assuming they won’t change the rules again by then…

    • pauldb says:

Consider the HSBC package if you’re eligible, not drowning in avios, and willing to switch your banking.
The way I view it, you pay two years’ fees = £390. As long as you spend £12k in the first year, that cost is well covered by 40k avios. You also get travel insurance, two years of “enhanced” 1avios/£ on non-Amex spend, Lounge Key, about the best foreign spend option in combination with Curve, and a good chance of a 25%+ conversion bonus during the two years.
The only reservation is that the periodic “Free Night Away” promotion (worth £100+) is not currently on. Special HFP promo Rob???

      • Rob says:

I need to pick this up with HSBC again. They contacted us about doing something last year and then we never heard from them again ….. one of those things I should be able to focus on more now I have bit more time.

      • Genghis says:

Double points on FX spend (good if employer are paying).

    • Taylor says:

I’m just hoping this emirates card works out and the earning rate is good. If it is, I’ll probably be putting all my spending through it.

  • Lux says:

Welcome back Rhys. I did wonder how the Amex changes would impact HFP – hope it’s sustainable, and there should be no shame in pushing us harder to use e.g. your Amazon links!

  • Howard says:

Away at present in Abu Dhabi and can’t get into my Hyatt Account. Need 2 nights Zurich from 4th June.

    It’s 60,000 Hyatt points for 2 nights.

How much would it cost to buy 60,000 points ?

    Thanks.

    • Rob says:

      $1032

      • Howard says:

        Thank you

        • Russ says:

Are you buying them when in AUH? What are you using as a secure line? If I need anything that needs account access I phone home and someone does the transaction.

          • David says:

Do VPNs not work in AUH?

          • Rob says:

A lot of them don’t, no. It isn’t difficult to block VPNs once someone is smart enough to draw up a list of them.
