British Airways cabin crew member Amy Hart will appear on Love Island

There is a British Airways cabin crew member on Love Island ….

We are probably barking up the wrong tree here in terms of what appeals to the HfP readership, but if you tune into Love Island on ITV next week you will see a Gatwick-based British Airways Customer Service Manager featured.

(EDIT: it seems that she may have left BA to do this, although Love Island talks about her crew role in the present tense.)

British Airways Amy Hart Love Island

26 year old Amy Hart, pictured below, is one of the new contestants trying to find love for the next two months.  You are more likely to recognise her from the photo below than the one above.

Given the shenanigans that happen on Love Island I’m sure the British Airways PR team are keen to keep this quiet, although they may be fighting a losing battle.  Amy has already told the tabloids about accompanying Piers Morgan on a flight and her Instagram feed includes a link to her agent ….

If you’re desperate to keep up (and I know you are) Love Island starts Monday at 9pm on ITV.

OT – looking to book my parents return J flights from London to Bangkok for next summer. Does anyone have any insight into how quickly these seats are likely to sell out? I need to get a 2-4-1 voucher first.

    Thanks!

    • Rob says:

rewardflightfinder shows patchy availability even now for July/Aug in CW so if you are not tied to certain dates should be ok. Loads of options to fly elsewhere and connect too.

      • Dominic says:

Thanks very much, Rob. Tied to school holidays which is a little frustrating, but will be flexible apart from that.

    • Nigel says:

I thought the person who earned the 241 had to be one of the two travellers (e.g. it couldn’t be used to book for parents)??

      • AndyW says:

        Yep agreed.

      • Rob says:

        Correct, missed that bit!

      • Dominic says:

Indeed, but will be OK there – going to get the card in my father’s name (with his permission, obviously!).

I’ll do the spending through corporate travel 🙂

  • Jtz says:

OT need some help with this…
Currently looking to book Maldives to London on krisflyer back which is costing £500 in taxes back and has 2 stops for the dates we need, one in ist which I’m fine with because we will be flying Turkish and the new airport and lounge looks good, and another in Zurich or Budapest.

Flight there are costing £1000 in economy with a stopover in IST and KUL…so our net cash cost is 1500 with one journey in economy and one in business…I’m now kind of feeling this doesn’t sit quite right with me, esp as economy returns can be had nearly around £1000,
Never flown business before and we don’t mind economy as long as we can get some lounge access oh has gold amex and I have plat currently.

I feel I probably can make use of the points even with the 3 year expiry, maybe with a return to ME.

Would love your thoughts on this.

    Thanks

    • Steve says:

£1000 per passenger? You might find emirates offers return for around £700pp.

      • Michael says:

I expect Qatar could probably get you there even cheaper in Economy

  • Steve says:

O/T has anyone else received a random £50 gift card from Marriott? Just got the following today as a Titanium Elite status member, upgraded from Gold through a status challenge last summer around May.

On behalf of the Marriott Bonvoy™ team, I’d like to take a moment to thank you for being a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member. Your loyalty means the world to us.

We are delighted to give you a small gift. Below is a $50 USD Marriott® GiftCard that may be used at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels and at participating hotel outlets for retail, spa, golf, and food and beverage.

    • Dan says:

$30 as gold. I have a stay in a couple of weeks so buys a couple of drinks!

      • Steve says:

Ahh missed the dollar sign it is in fact $50 not £50, hoping my wife gets something as gold but nothing in her inbox yet

    • Matt says:

      Lucky you!
Have never got anything like that from Marriott despite being Platinum/Titanium for 10 years running! Did you get this via email or post?

    • Alan says:

Got $30 as Gold. T&Cs say no expiry though so that’s quite decent.

  • Aslan says:

    O/T
Looking at booking 2-4-1 open jaw next year – does BA measure from LON or LHR?
Thinking about doing CPT and SIN as the two legs, but flight falls foul of shortest leg requirement if measured from LON…
    TIA

  • Robman says:

O/T – I have an IHG free night voucher which must be used by 2nd July. Has anyone stayed at the Intercontinental Paris Opera and the Intercontinental Park Lane London and can offer advice on which is the best for a free night’s stay. I’m based just outside of London.

    • Toppcat says:

IC Park Lane is pretty dated, with tiny rooms. Even the refurbished rooms aren’t all that. In London I would rather the IC O2 (if the location is okay for you) CP Blackfriars (which is excellent) or one of the Indigos. Can’t comment on Paris Opera, but it is meant to be good.

    • Rob says:

Paris, Amsterdam, Marseille, Porto – check out the new Lyon one too.

    • Rooster says:

CP The City, if you have status good chance of an upgrade to a club room WITH lounge access which is also good!

    • Graham Walsh says:

I used my voucher the other week at IC Park Lane. Was only staying for the night as was at an event and didn’t use any facilities of the hotel apart from the bed for a few hours. Hotel looked nice, but wasn’t going to pay £35 or £40 per person for breakfast either. Room was “upgraded” to a view of the park.

    • Graham Walsh says:

Also stayed at the IC Paris 4 years ago. Nice hotel but again just used the room (much smaller than London) and explored the local cafes and restaurants.

  • OT King says:

O/T – I’ve lost my cat Airborne. That’s what we call it when we kick it out the way. Any advice on where I might find it?

    • Shoestring says:

probably at the top of your stairs waiting to trip you up, letting you crack a few ribs, give you a punctured lung and double pneumonia

      • The Original Nick says:

That’s where you found out yours was Harry. Brilliant.

      • Peter K says:

Oh my life. I was only thinking yesterday about your debacle Harry and wondering if I could try and find the whole story again. You’ve saved me the great effort it would take! Thank you.

        • Shoestring says:

I was on the intensive care ward where quite a few people die from stuff like that – tbh it passes us by a bit when we read ‘Mr XYZ died from a fall’ – but that’s pretty much what happens – they fall (doesn’t sound that bad) but the fall causes a few repercussions resulting in death, on my 6-person ward they were mostly in the age range 75-90 with serious chest/ lung issues, & some of them were there to die, which shakes you up

          • Mike says:

Harry – glad you made it. I missed you during that period of abscence.

  • Shoestring says:

Looks like the airlines could have made the fares a bit cheaper to Baku!

    Half empty

  • The Original Nick says:

Sorry Harry I didn’t realise it was that serious. But how you put the story of your disappearance from here did make me laugh all that time ago!

    • Shoestring says:

Nothing some heavy IV antibiotics couldn’t sort out! Older people not so fortunate.

Bloody black cat, she’s so cute – apart from the malevolence.

      • The Original Nick says:

I have a Dogue De Bordeaux and he causes trouble sometimes so I know where you’re coming from.

      • Lady London says:

I missed that. Dreadful to hear about it now, Harry.

And you still buy that cat cat food? Personally I think I might have done something else with it….
