Get 12.5% off Plaza Premium lounges for couples – or kids go free for families

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

If you want to book a Heathrow Airport lounge for this August, and don’t have access via a lounge scheme, Plaza Premium has launched an interesting offer.

As you can see here, you can:

save 25% on the 2nd person (so 12.5% off the total cost) on a Plaza Premium lounge booking until 31st August 2019

or

kids between two and 11 go free (maximum two per adult) when you use promo code “KIDSFORFREE” until 31st August 2019

All of the Heathrow lounges seem to be on the list of participating locations:

  • Arrivals, Terminal 2 – review
  • Arrivals, Terminal 3 – review
  • Arrivals, Terminal 4 – review
  • Departures, Terminal 2 – review
  • Departures, Terminal 4 – review
  • Departures, Terminal 5 – review, photo below

The ‘best’ lounges are Terminal 2, which regularly wins ‘best independent airport lounge in the world’ awards, and Terminal 4.  However, because it is not in Priority Pass or Lounge Club, the lounge in Terminal 5 is of particular interest to HfP readers.

You can find out more about the promos, and book, on the Plaza Premium website here.  These offers do NOT work ‘on the door’.

    Hot off the press…

A strike by more than 4,000 workers at Heathrow due to start tomorrow (Tuesday 6 August) at 00:01 and finish at 23:59 has been suspended while the workforce votes on an improved pay offer, Unite, Britain and Ireland’s largest union, said today (Monday 5 August).

Unite said it would not be revealing the details of the improved offer until its members involved in the ongoing pay dispute have had an opportunity to consider and vote on the new package.
However, Unite said that the strikes already announced for Friday 23 August and Saturday 24 August remained on the table until the result of the ballot was known.

Unite will not be commenting further until its members have considered the improved offer.

Marriot Bonvoy- How long does it take to transfer between two member accounts?

    • BJ says:

Instant, CSA deletes from one anc adds to the other when you call.

      • Harvey says:

That’s what csa told me, but not showing in online account so can’t make a booking

        • Stu N says:

Try logging out of destination account and logging back in again.

        • Stu N says:

Odd. I’d phone back and check the transfer has gone through OK.

Remember you can usually book a Marriott redemption before you have the points, unless its short notice (10-14 days, I think).

          • Harvey says:

Thank you. Now its all showing and the booking has been made. Was weird as it showed on activity but not in points balance

  • Roy says:

Probably unsurprisingly, the £5 August Add Lee promotion doesn’t stack with the peak time discount you get if you have elite status in ClubLee.

So if you’re ClubLee gold, for instance, then you can apply the peak-time 15% ClubLee gold discount or the £5 August discount, but not (as far as I can see) both to the same journey.

    • Andrew says:

What about the general off-peak discount? Does the £5 stack with that?

      • Roy says:

I would expect so, because that’s just factored into the price, and not fine by a promo code

  • AndyGWP says:

    Nice one – well done!

  • Andrew says:

I’m a bit of a “doubting Thomas” with some offers.

On my employer’s staff benefits package a 25% back offer has appeared on all bookings made *directly* with TripAdvisor. Thing is, having clicked through to Trip Advisor, I can’t see any hotels that TripAdvisor sell directly – it’s a sub click through to Expedia or in my case Agado.

I’m paying on departure so will have no idea if it’s worked or not until about 6 weeks after my stay next May… But if I get 25% back – I’ll be quite happy.

    LNER/Nectar.

Recently mentioned on here that Nectar points currently convert at twice the normal rate to LNER vouchers. Terms and conditions indicate can only be used on LNER trains, but is that the reality or can they also be used to book non-LNER trains via the LNER website in your experience?

    • BJ says:

Only LNER advance tickets, however, there have been reports of some successes for some journeys combining LNER and another operator but don’t count on that.

      • 3742 says:

Thanks BJ. Unfortunately no use to me then. I travel monthly from London to Manchester, but closest LNER itself seems to go is Leeds…

        • BJ says:

Yes, it’s a pity VT and TPX don’t do this offer. I’d have like to travel Edinburgh to Manchester myself but too much hassle via Leeds when there are direct options.
