REMINDER: Up to 10,000 Avios with your household, business or landlord insurance

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

One of the better Avios earning offers we have promoted in the past is for Alan Boswell Group personal, business and landlord insurance. They were a long-standing avios.com partner until last year, when the Avios Travel Rewards program was shut down.

It has taken Alan Boswell Group some time to re-establish their Avios partnership, which is now with British Airways Executive Club rather than avios.com.  The good news is that the deal has been live again since August.  I wanted to give it another plug today in case your insurance is up for renewal soon.

You can earn up to 10,000 Avios when you take out household, business or landlord insurance.

If your household insurance is due soon you may want to give them a call.

If you have a buy to let property, you can also pick up a large pile of Avios points when you take out landlord insurance.  You will also earn points if you take out business insurance for your company.

You need to be based in the UK, or insuring a risk in the UK if you are based abroad, to earn Avios.

How many Avios can you earn?

Here are the earning rates:

1,000 Avios per policy priced between £100 and £200

2,000 Avios per policy priced between £201 and £500

5,000 Avios per policy priced between £501 and £1,000

10,000 Avios per policy priced above £1,000

You will be emailed a voucher which you can redeem directly into your British Airways Executive Club account at aviosvouchers.com. Vouchers will be emailed within 30 days of the effective date of the policy. If you choose to pay monthly you will receive your voucher after the second payment is completed.

Alan Boswell Avios

As a specialist insurance broker, Alan Boswell will give you best quote it can from the wide range of underwriters it works with.  This means that it is very likely that it will be competitive with your current insurance quote as you will be getting the lowest price from across a wide range of providers.

If you have a buy to let property, landlord insurance appears to be a tax deductible expense.  A business insurance policy is obviously also deductible.  This means that it would even be worth paying a little more than your current provider if you could secure a few thousand Avios on top.

How to buy

The system is a little fiddly, I admit.

For business and household insurance, you need to ring Alan Boswell for a quote.  The details can be found on this page of their website.

For landlord insurance, you can get a quote and purchase online via their website here.

Don’t forget to factor in a value for the Avios when comparing with your existing quote.  I know from speaking to the company that the renewal rate from Avios customers is good so they are clearly proving competitive even after the first year.

  1. Roberto says:

I am due to renew a landlord policy this weekend, they confirmed they would be paying Avios on the renewal premium too. Not claimed nor had any need to speak with them during my first year but the email correspondence has always been cordial and professional since my initial contact.

    • Andy Plumb says:

I agree, I have had 2 policies with them for a few years now and receive Avios after every renewal. I’ve had no claims yet but they are always really easy to contact and speak to.

  2. e-Landlord says:

I bought this policy last year and didn’t get any points. Chased it with both Avios and Alan Boswell from memory and got pushed from one to the other etc. Nothing on renewal either!!! I bought via the Avios store at the time.

    • Boswell is not on the Avios store.

If you were missing points I could have fixed it for you within 48 hours.

      • Were they last year.

The Avios e-store are offering double Avios on a range of quality online shops ….. Alan Boswell Group has partnered with Avios Travel Rewards Programme

        • Alan Boswell Group says:

          Hi,

We’ve never been on the e-store, if you drop your details to [email protected] I can see if you are on our systems and when the Avios were credited.

          Regards

          Simon

      • So if I read the article right, last year the points went to Avios.com but now go to British Airways. Hence the need to check Avios.com for last years crediting.
