British Airways has released its Black Friday deals.
These went live today (28th) and run to Tuesday 3rd December.
It is a mixed bag and I’m not quite sure what to make of it. They don’t appear too desperate to fill premium seats.
Details are the ba.com Black Friday page here.
There are actually FOUR different offers.
Offer 1: Companion fares on Club Europe short-haul
British Airways is offering ‘companion deals’ on the following routes:
From Heathrow: Barcelona, Berlin, Billund, Bologna, Brussels, Basel, Budapest, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gothenburg, Hanover, Hamburg, Helsinki, Istanbul “and more”
From Gatwick: Turin, Porto, Verona, Geneva, Salzburg, Bilbao, Grenoble, Bergamo, Faro, Naples, Sevilla, Nice, Jersey, Edinburgh, Dubrovnik, Glasgow
When you book for two people, Club Europe will price at exactly £100 per person, return, above the Euro Traveller price.
Offer 2: Discounted World Traveller and World Traveller Plus tickets
There are ‘special fares’ on the following routes:
World Traveller: Abu Dhabi, Durban, Johannesburg, Seychelles, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Osaka,
Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Grand Cayman, Cancun, Kingston
World Traveller Plus: Cancun, Lima, Orlando, Mauritius, Tampa
Here are headline prices supplied by BA:
- Abu Dhabi – £297 return
- Las Vegas – £399 return
- Kingston – £495 return
- Johannesburg – £499 return
- Grand Cayman – £649 return
Offer 3: Guaranteed ‘buy up’ deals to World Traveller Plus
On the following routes, World Traveller Plus is being offered for a fixed premium over World Traveller.
There could be some good deals here if you also manage to upgrade your World Traveller Plus seat to Club World using Avios. Remember that this requires Avios availability in Club World.
Remember that World Traveller Plus offers 90-100 tier points each way and a lot more Avios than World Traveller, so the ‘buy up’ is even better value than it looks. Rhys will be doing a World Traveller Plus review next week, although it will be after this deal has closed.
Routes where WTP is £199 above WT: Abu Dhabi, Atlanta, Jeddah, Muscat, New Orleans, Osaka, Phoenix, Toronto, Washington
Routes where WTP is £249 above WT: Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, New York, Austin, Pittsburgh, Tokyo
Routes where WTP is £299 above WT: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban
Offer 4: Discounted Club World tickets
Club World discounting is very restricted this year (no ‘2 for £2019’ offer) and will be limited to the following routes:
Durban, Johannesburg, Austin, Nashville, Toronto, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore
Here are headline prices supplied by BA:
- Johannesburg £2599
- Toronto £1595 (Club Suite on the A350 departure)
- Nashville £1595
- Austin £1595
Travel dates: Johannesburg: 13/01/20 – 31/03/20, Toronto, Nashville and Austin: 23/12/19 – 29/12/19.
I will update this article during the day if more deals come to light.
