Sometimes the best gifts can’t be wrapped.  This year, why not give the gift of an experience this Christmas and book a hotel stay for your loved ones to enjoy, with the IHG Cyber Sale.

There are enhanced discounts of up to 30% off the Best Available Rate until 6th December, available exclusively to IHG Rewards Club members, so it’s a good time to sign up to the programme if you haven’t done so yet.

As well as member-only rates like this one, IHG Rewards Club members get additional benefits like complimentary Wi-Fi and the ability to earn points towards reward nights.

These Cyber Sale offers are available at hotels across the IHG portfolio, including Kimpton, Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn so there are plenty of options to choose from.

The Cyber Sale conditions are as follows:

  • Available for stays until 31st May 2020
  • Bookings are non-refundable and require pre-payment at time of booking

You should note that the discount is not a full 30%, because it is based on the Best Flexible Rate.  As these rates are non-refundable, a fairer comparison is with the usual Advance Purchase rate – but you should still see a good additional saving.

It’s worth noting that IHG are also running a 4x Bonus Points promotion that Rob wrote about a few weeks ago, which could earn you up to quadruple IHG Rewards Club points on a stay before 31st January 2020 (you do need to register for this offer here and book before 15th December).

If you are staying before 31st December, you should also register for the current version of the generous Accelerate promotionOur article on Accelerate is here and you can register here.

Principal Manchester

As the Cyber Sale, Accelerate and the 4x Bonus Points promotions can be combined, this makes for a very attractive time to book with IHG. We recently wrote about how impressed we were by the Principal Manchester (review here, it becomes a Kimpton soon) – suddenly I’m thinking it may be time for a trip up north to the Manchester Christmas Markets ….…

Full details of the IHG Cyber Sale can be found here.  The sale runs to 17th December, but the additional discount is only available until 6th December.

  • The Original David says:

Is this limited to specific regions? I can’t see any “Cyber Sale” rates for Shanghai next weekend…

  • Craig says:

It does seem odd to have an article sponsored by IHG alongside a banner that the website is sponsored by Hilton?

  • James says:

Are existing bookings eligible for the 4x bonus points ?

It is disgraceful how companies compare their discounts to a product or service which is not like-for-like.

30% off the Best Available Rate but best available rate doesn’t have the conditions that bookings are non-refundable and require pre-payment at time of booking.

    • James says:

Should have to say 20% (or whatever it is) off non-refundable rate.

    • Charlieface says:

How about we all put in a complaint to the ASA? Maybe we should do a joint one then they’ll take notice.
Rob, could you compile a list of emails of people who respond +1 to this, if IHG don’t like it we could complain about the other companies.

  • aston100 says:

Not sure if I misunderstood the x4 bonus points offer or not, but I’ve noticed that these are not in addition to the usual base points, but in place of.

    • TGLoyalty says:

It’s 1k then 2x ie double the base, then 3x as in 3x the base and 4x ie quadruple the base.

You aren’t getting the base plus 2x 3x 4x I’ve never known anyone describe any bonus like that.

  • Freddy says:

Good news ma darling, some presents can’t be wrapped. I’ve decided to book the holiday Inn in Coventry for the night. We can take in the sights, enjoy the free mars bar being dished out at reception, have a romantic meal at the local McDonald’s eatery followed by some rumpy pumpy on the springy mattress.

Think the missus will opt for the steam mop she got last year

    • TGLoyalty says:

Book the indigo in Stratford instead far better.

Though Indigo could be opening up in Coventry. Moxy just had planning permission denied but may happen yet.

  • TripRep says:

Booked a restaurant in Florida earlier today for this evening via IHG and OpenTable, to trigger my first 500pts bonus and 150 advertised points for the booking.

However the confirmation email says its not eligible for points, anyone else had similar from IHG?

btw Crazy weather here, sunny hot 28C yesterday, nr 0C tonight.
