Virgin Atlantic is bringing back its Golden Ticket game for Cyber Monday.

It is adding 90 £1 Economy Delight flights into its flight search system today.  However, these are totally random flights.  We don’t know the dates or the destinations, so your chance of finding one is not huge.

However, as with last year, unsubtle tips will be available during today from the @virginatlantic Twitter account.

Slightly churlishly, Virgin Atlantic won’t pay your taxes and charges if you win.   The prizes cost “£1 plus taxes, fees, charges and carrier imposed surcharges”.

You can find more information here.

Here are the full rules (note that they have changed slightly from the draft version I originally published and now allow children to travel):

A Golden Ticket will entitle the holder to purchase 1 adult, young adult or child Economy Delight return flight for £1+ taxes, fees & charges.

There are a total of 90 Golden Tickets being released in batches across a variety of our destinations throughout the day on 2 December 2019.

The Golden Tickets are for UK originating return flights on selected dates.

The following are not permitted:

a) Round trips where the destination of the outward sector and the departure point of the return sector differ

b) One way trips

c) Trips including sectors on airlines other than Virgin Atlantic including codeshares

d) Stopovers and open-date returns

A minimum stay of 3 nights is required. Maximum stay is 12 months.

Once a booking has been completed:

a) Cancellations are not permitted;

b) No compensation and/or refund will be made available; and

c) Route or name changes are not permitted.

Flying Club miles, bonus miles and tier points are available on selected flights. Please check at the time of booking.

Virgin Atlantic Golden Tickets

It is worth noting that these are Economy Delight seats.  These are noticeably better than standard economy:

Extra legroom (34″ pitch)

Free seat selection at any time

Priority check-in

Priority boarding

Can be upgraded to Upper Class or Premium Economy with miles (I cannot give you a guarantee that these £1 fares will be upgradable though)

More details are available on this page of the Virgin Atlantic website.

Have you struck gold yet? ✨

We’ve just released the last set of Economy Delight fares in our ordinary flight search for £1 plus taxes, fees and charges.

  • Shoestring says:

It’s all over! All the Golden Tickets have been found, and there’s no more searching to be done

  • Iain says:

I was looking at Virgin GLA-MCO which has always been a direct flight. It now seems to be mostly via AMS and KLM adding significant time to the journey, does anyone know if the direct flight on VA metal has been scrapped?

    • Farmer says:

Pretty sure it doesn’t run all year round, and it’s also very busy so may be full for your dates.

  • signol says:

Couldn’t find anything to JNB on any dates… 🙁
