News in brief:

Marriott launches ‘Welcome Back’ hotel offers

Marriott is offering ‘Welcome Back’ deals across its European and Middle East hotels.  Full details are on this page of the Marriott website – note that promo code ‘EZR’ is required (and is automatically added).

As long as you are a Marriott Bonvoy member – and it’s free to sign up here – you will receive a 25% discount on the Best Flexible Rate and free breakfast.

As an example, taking the Sheraton Grand in Edinburgh for a random Friday in August, the price under this offer is £142 with breakfast.  This compares to a standard room-only rate of £185.

The offer is valid for stays until 30th September.

Full details are on the Marriott site here – the page focuses on the UK and Ireland but you search across EMEA.

American Express Dell offer

I sold my Dell stuff …..

Finally, a quick update for everyone who read my article last Monday about how I am trying to cash in on the American Express Business Platinum ‘£150 cashback with Dell’ offer.

My Dell D3100 thingy (still not sure what it does ….) sold after four days on eBay for the ‘buy it now’ price of £99 plus £5 postage.  The actual cost to send it by Royal Mail First Class turned out to be £5.57.

My net profit, after fees, will be around £85 – £90 for a very modest amount of work.  My eBay listing is here (click ‘View Original Item’ at the top) if you want to clone it.

O/T but anyone with easyjet flights for this summer and has not her holiday planned in 2021 might want to review. My one way leg cost around £600 for the family and I could now pick it up for £80. As a result I booked 2021 legs (which were around £500) using the change my flight and then paid the £80 for my flight in a few weeks.

Christ. I’d rather lose all my points in the world than share a suite with four people!
