It may have taken a decade, but British Airways and Iberia are getting close to have an equal list of hotel partners. Most recently, Melia became a British Airways partner, whilst Iberostar pulled out of Iberia Plus.

This leaves NH Hotels as the only major chain which only works with Iberia Plus.

Full details of all Iberia hotel partners can be found here.  Ensure you look on the Spanish site (with ‘English’ as language) because for some reason the English site shows fewer partners.

The NH Hotels website is here.

Earn triple Avios with NH Hotels

NH Hotels is one of those niche European hotel chains that is rarely seen in the UK (although there is one in London) but crops up quite frequently on the continent.

As well as the main NH Hotels brand, the group also includes the funky nhow chain which also has a London outpost.

The standard earning rate with NH Hotels and nhow is shown here at iberia.com

You earn between 200 and 450 Avios per night depending on the quality of the hotel.

However, until 31st October, you will earn triple Avios on all NH Hotels and nhow stays of 2+ nights.

This means you could earn up to 1,350 Avios per night.

To earn Avios at NH Hotels, you need to open an Iberia Plus account at iberia.com and give that number to the hotel.  British Airways Executive Club numbers are not accepted

Once the Avios arrive in your Iberia Plus account, you can transfer them to BA using the ‘Combine My Avios’ feature online.  Note that Iberia accounts must be 90 days old before you can use ‘Combine My Avios’. This HfP article explains in detail how ‘Combine My Avios’ works and how to work around any IT bugs.

Earn £50 American Express cashback too

Of all the cashback offers currently running on American Express cards (we ran a full list last weekend) one of the most generous is for NH Hotels and nhow.

You will earn £50 cashback on £180 spend before 31st December.

It is valid at participating hotels (click here) across Europe, including the NH and nhow hotels in London.

You can find out more about NH Hotels on their website here.

It says in the T&Cs that Avios are not awarded on reduced or promotional rates. I wonder if it only applies to rack rates? If so, it would be a rather pointless promotion!

How “recently” did Melia become a British Airways hotel partner? I am struggling to find any reference to Melia as a hotel partner on the BA website.
