Good £95 deal at Marriott’s The Dixon hotel in London

The Dixon is a relatively new luxury boutique hotel on the south side of Tower Bridge. It is situated in a building which used to be a magistrate’s court, and was built as part of the new housing and theatre development in that area.

I’ve never been inside although it is on my list – I used to work virtually next door and remember it sitting empty. It is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection of luxury independent boutique hotels.

The Dixon £95 offer

You can see the Marriott website for the hotel here.

Via Marriott, it isn’t cheap. You will usually pay around £250 midweek – it is asking that for next Spring – although at present you can book for around £110.

Travelzoo is selling REFUNDABLE vouchers for The Dixon for £95. They can be used up to the end of April 2021, plus August and December 2021.

Marriott £95 The Dixon London deal

Spend an extra £34 and they will include breakfast, 2pm check-out and a bottle of prosecco.

It doesn’t represent a great saving for short term stays – although you DO make a saving – but if you need to be in London before the end of April it is definitely worth a look. Travelzoo will refund you if you don’t end up using it.

Remember that you will NOT receive Marriott Bonvoy points, stay credit or your elite status benefits if you book via this route.

Dixon. You can get a similar rate using EZR rate code and get stay credit. Stayed here a few months ago and staff are great. I liked the property

    • TGLoyalty says:

I liked it too but the rooms are on the cosy side.

Status got me a nice upgrade, I liked the place. Gym was nice, breakfast was great and staff were very nice to me.

  • mr_jetlag says:

Good little hotel. Provisioners does a good brunch, and has the outlines of the old jail cells on the floor.

  • DANi says:

The opodo people…to be avoided. Terrible with refunds and ended up with 2 chargebacks to get things sorted… Never again.

  • Mike Lo says:

I wouldn’t book with Opodo. I had to wait 7 months for a refund, for a flight the airline cancelled. It’s not worth the 20£ discount.

  • Mikeact says:

I too, can’t get my head around the M&M card….in fact at renewal I will cancel, particularly after the problems this year. If my miles expire, so be it. They were only good for a one way award anyway.

  • MD says:

Rob, where did you work near there? I used to live in Shad Thames for many years, and for a while very near the Dixon. Love the area.

The hotel looks nice enough but I’m surprised to see people mentioning they’ve stayed there, as what always struck me about it was how absolutely deserted it looked!

Miles&More: I never had a problem with the Diners card because it’s Discover, which places like M&S take anyway. It’s a bit like asking about Amex a few years ago.

The prepaid aspect of the MasterCard caught me out with a hire car deposit, but otherwise it’s been fine.

They gave me a pro-rata refund (in T&C) when I cancelled (due to not traveling) whereas Virgin refused.

As an aside (& why I’m cancelling cards), a popular Bristol-based stock broker has changed its MCC from “professional services” to “broker” thus ending Curve opportunities.

  • Greenpen says:

Saving for LH F trip so I really hope it continues. Not bothered about Visa versus MasterCard, there’s no difference as far as I can see.
