Marriott Bonvoy extends 2,500 bonus points per hotel stay offer into November

Marriott Bonvoy has decided to extend its current bonus points promotion for an additional three weeks.

It now runs until 10th November instead of ending on 18th October.  You do NOT need to re-register.  However, if you didn’t do so before, you can register via this link.

It isn’t a hugely generous offer BUT it has virtually no small print and no silly restrictions, so there’s nothing to complain about.  If you tend to do one-night stays in the cheaper brands it could work out nicely.

It will also stack with the very generous American Express cashback offers currently available.  These range from:

£400 cashback on a £400 spend for selected American Express Platinum cardholders (article here, offer now extended into November)

£75 cashback on £200 spend for Marriott Bonvoy American Express cardholders (see our article today)

£50 cashback on £200 spend for selected other Amex cardholders (article here)

Until the end of the year, you will also receive 10 Marriott Bonvoy points per £1 when you pay for Marriott International hotel stays using the Marriott Bonvoy American Express card.

How many bonus Bonvoy points do I earn?

You earn 2,500 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points per stay.

You get a one-off bonus of 5,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on your third stay.

There have been reports of delays in the 5,000 points posting, but I assume that Marriott will catch up in the end.

What are the key dates?

The offer now runs to 10th November.

You MUST register via this link before your stay.

Existing bookings DO count – there is no need to rebook.  Reward bookings do not count

Marriott Canary Wharf

Is this a good offer?

It’s not life-changing, but as every cash stay, every brand and every country is participating, Marriott Bonvoy has at least made it easy.  You don’t need to rebook anything and there is no silly ‘starting with your 2nd stay’ rule.

I value a Marriott Bonvoy point at 0.5p.  This means that the bonus is worth £12.50 per stay.  That’s not a bad return if you are doing cheap one night stays.  It is clearly a bad return if you’re doing five nights for £3,000 at the St Regis Mallorca, reviewed here, of course.

If you do three stays to trigger the additional 5,000 points, you would have received 12,500 bonus points – £62.50-worth.  This is an average bonus of almost £21 per stay PLUS your standard points.  This is pretty good.

How do I register?

You can register, and find out more, on this page of the Marriott website.

  • Karl says:

If any healthcare workers are interested, Aloft Excel is £41 per night. I’ve stayed a few times recently doing the Platinum status match. Usually upgraded to a suite too. With 3500 points back as well, they’re virtually giving the rooms away.

  • Harry T says:

I’m hoping for double or triple points for the next promotion. This promotion has benefited customers paying for cheap stays more than luxury ones. Not that I’m complaining – any offer is helpful. I should get about 30,000 points out of this one.

Has anyone received the 5000 bonus for the third stay yet?

    • Stuart says:

Yes, posted along with the base points 24 hours after my stay.

    • Simon says:

The email I got said “Your one-time bonus of 5,000 additional points will be awarded up to six weeks after the end of the promotion”

    • Karl says:

None for me yet neither. Was going to wait until the promo ended before chasing.

  • Ilga says:

Does it have to be multiple nights to count as a stay?
