We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

    We’re getting in touch to tell you that your Virgin Money Current Account and Virgin Money Instant Savings are getting brand-new names. From 16 March 2021, they’ll be called the M Plus Account and M Plus Saver.

        I’ve often thought about taking 10 mins out and sending ASA complaints about claims like this. Why do they think their service is great!

        Why is Stansted Airport mislabelled ‘London Stansted’?

        Then I remember that I’ve got plenty of other things to be getting on with.

        It would be interesting to see the power of HfP readers if we did all pursue one of these things!

          The same as ‘Kidlington’ – Oxford – and now ‘London Airport’.

        They would argue it is subjective… must say so far so good. Account switched no issues and on time, 15k promo code came through 2 days after switch, card and pin arrived quickly.

          My experience was a total shambles with them which included them losing a £4,000 transaction for a while. I banked the 15,000 points and have switched out. Never again.

        They say same “great rewards” and “service”

        So you’ll get the same service you are used to!

    Just had an intersecting email from Sainsbury’s flagging new coupons in my account, which when I clicked through turned out to be exactly the same high value ones (100ish points each) that had stopped on the nectar app – even the same 4 products as I had them for two weeks ago. I’m hoping this is a sign that the good times will be back again…!

    Thanks to the OP who left the tip about asking about spare vaccines. Went with my son for his vaccination (he’s in the risk category) and asked if they had any spare. No problem – gave may DOB etc. and had the vaccination. Second jab booked with my son at the same time in early June.

      my partners brother went for his 68 his wife hadn’t been booked in although older than him. She had a letter to book at Portsmouth/Brighton after much persuading and me saying i got mine simply by asking when i took my partner she went an asked they said no problem

      Where have you been the last two weeks? much discussed it’s minor and quite a few airlines have bern emailing people reported here
