What is Bicester Village?

If you’ve never been, Bicester Village is a shopping village with over 160 boutiques located in the heart of Oxfordshire. It is home to leading brands including Le Creuset, Monica Vinader, Mulberry, Sweaty Betty, The White Company and more.

The village is easily accessible by car via the M40 and offers free parking. It also has its own train station, Bicester Village Station, which is serviced by trains from London Marylebone and Oxford.

Coming from Birmingham you can take the train to Bicester North where you will find a complimentary shuttle service to Bicester Village.

What is the Private Sale?

Depending on the participating retailer, British Airways Executive Club members can save up to 30% off their purchase with a minimum spend.

Each participating boutique will be offering one of six offers:

  • 10% off when spending up to £99 and 20% when spending £100+, or
  • 20% off when spending up to £199 and 30% off when spending £200+, or
  • 20% off when spending up to £499 and 30% off when spending £500+, or
  • 20% off when spending £150+
  • 20% off when spending £200+
  • 20% off when spending £500+
  • 30% off when spending £750+

Earn triple Avios during the Private Sale

British Airways Executive Club members can earn Avios all year round when shopping at Bicester Village.

The earning rate at Bicester Village is 5 Avios per £4 spent. This includes food and drink spending on site.

During the Private Sale, this is increased to 15 Avios per £4 spent.

You do not need to claim your miles in each individual store you visit.  Instead, simply hold on to your receipts until the end of your shopping trip.

Once you’re done shopping for the day, go to the Village Welcome or Tourist Information Centre and present your Executive Club card (or proof of membership) plus shopping receipts to collect your Avios.

Alternatively, you can use the new e-redemption service. You can email a copy of your receipts to Bicester Village and they will ensure that your Avios are credited to your account. You can find out more on their website here.

Save more with American Express

American Express cardmembers will find a special statement credit offer showing on their online accounts.

You will receive £50 cashback when you spend £500+ at Bicester Village before 31st May.

The spend CAN be cumulative.

You need to opt in to the offer via the ‘Offers’ tab of the American Express app or your online statement page. It is limited to the first 60,000 people to register.

How do I take part in the Private Sale?

Register for Bicester Village membership here for free to receive your Private Sale code which you need to show at the till in participating boutiques when paying.

If you already are a member, you will receive the QR code via email and you can also find it when you log in to your account.

If you can’t make it up to the Village during the Private Sale, you can still enjoy the same savings when shopping virtually.

You need to let the boutique adviser know you’d like to redeem your Private Sale offer, then send them a screenshot of your membership QR code to apply your saving. You can find out more about virtual shopping at Bicester Village here.

When is Bicester Village open?

Bicester Village is currently operating extended opening hours:

  • 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday
  • 9am to 7pm, Sunday

Bicester Village has brought in various measures to make shopping easier.  Face masks are mandatory inside boutiques and are recommended throughout the whole village.  One metre social distancing measures will also be in place.

    Are on-site avios redemption confirmed? The last 2 visits of ours (2 months and 6 months ago) we were clearly told it must be done online and they haven’t done it on site ‘for ages’.

      They added the avios at the second attempt online.

      Yes only via email after your visit – they will turn you away from the visitor centre.

      +1, a few weeks ago when HFP wrote about it I went to BV on the day and confirmed it was online only. Usually Rob would adjust the article but I see he has kept this error.

      Under the what is a private sale section, it refers to what BA exe club members can get even thou the sale has nothing to do with BA that is poor drafting, it is available to BV privilege members. And even that is pushing it, the last article several of us mentioned the discount varies by stores and is available openly in some stores without scanning anything.

        BV have confirmed to us that you should still be able to do it in person, but that they encourage people to do it online.

        We know the discount varies store by store – it’s in the article! And as a UK based website of course we mention BA Executive Club – it’s what 99.9999% of readers collect!

          By discount varies by store, I meant how it is applied not the rate. Some stores would not require you to sign up to anything hence my comment about no need to scan anything.

        Not necessarily – I am on my 4th email trying to get my receipt spend added. 1st email returned as they don’t accept jpeg, 2nd returned because the scan wasn’t clear enough (?), 3rd returned because I hadn’t added a scan of my payment card (which was never asked for). I’ve just sent my 4th in including a scan of my payment card after attempting to cover half of it for security reasons. They really aren’t very helpful. I also visited the Customer Services directly at BV and was sent away to ’email only’

      +1 They refused to accept in-person claims at the Visitor Centre. Online submission of receipts works ok although they do appear to have problems with photos of receipts (picture resolution not good enough). Best solution is to use a scanner app to capture all receipts in PDF format.

      There’s a list of included locations linked on the Amex offer. All the restaurants are listed. So yes.

      Yes, F&B does appear to qualify. I was there 3 days ago and chalked up a few extra miles following lunch at Itsu. Best solution is to purchase a £500 gift card which triggers the £50 c@shback. It is accepted in every store except Versace. Only slight issue is keeping track of spend (which can be done online).
