The British Airways sale is up and running – here is our main article – and continues to offer some attractive offers for both flights and holidays.

It is always worth looking at the British Airways ‘Flight + Hotel’ offers as they can offer genuine added value. British Airways Holidays has the scale to get exclusive deals with various hotels which can get you discounts over building the same package yourself or include valuable additional perks.

Domes of Elounda resort Crete

The Marriott promotion is only available until 22nd June – use this page of the BA website to get a quote and book.

The Euro Traveller packages are as low as £389 for seven nights for two people. We have also pulled together the best Club Europe packages for our readers. We have looked at packages for September onwards which, fingers crossed, should be a good time to travel.

Earn extra Avios too

As a reminder, booking your holiday with British Airways is a great way of earning Avios as you can effectively ‘triple-dip’ your earnings.

Firstly, as an Executive Club Member you can collect 1 bonus Avios for every £1 you spend on flights + hotel and flights + car packages. You also earn from hotels, cars and sightseeing when booked separately through BA Holidays or added to an existing flight booking.

Secondly, if you use a British Airways American Express Premium Plus credit card to pay for your BA Holidays package, you will earn double Avios (3 per £1) from American Express.

And finally, you will also earn Avios from your flights as usual.

…. plus bonus tier points

In addition to the extra Avios, any BA Holiday bookings for travel between 9th June and 30th September are also eligible for BA’s current double tier points offer.

Don’t forget that tier point targets have also been reduced by 25% which should make (re)qualifying for Executive Club status even easier.

You can find out more about the BA Holidays ‘double tier points’ offer on ba.com here.

…. plus lounge access and use of the First Wing

If you don’t already have status you can also get access to the Galleries Club or Galleries First lounges at Heathrow for travel between 9th June and 30th September.

If you spend £1,500 per person or more on a BA Holidays package you get Fast Track security and Club lounge access.

If you book Club Europe or Club World flights and spend £2,500 per person or more you’ll be able to use The First Wing and access the Galleries First lounge.

You can see the full terms and conditions of this offer on the BA Holidays website here.

Is this OTA booking and wonder if my bonvoy membership benefit / status will be recognised? Thanks

    • 1ATL says:

Officially the answer is no, however in my experience it varies from property to property. For example Ritz-Carlton Abama in Tenerife has extended the elite benefits in the past for your operator made reservations (no points earned on the stay itself) but Sheraton La Caleta a few miles down the road wouldn’t. The only way you’re going to know for sure is by contacting the specific property for a definitive answer.

This should really have been addressed in the article.

…..plus until 15th June there are 2 extra Avios per £1 spent on the BAPP credit card! However, who says anyone will be going anywhere in September? These reduced prices entice the easily persuaded to book travel; as do niche blogs like HfP. These consumers then end up with a voucher to the monetary value they have spent and NOT the package they have booked. When eventually travel DOES open up, prices will initially sky rocket and then the cash strapped consumer will have to fork out a fortune for a holiday that they are financially committed to take! If they are gullible enough to book something then they are gullible enough to pay a silly price to actually get away! Vote with your wallet and wait until prices settle again – lack of Customers paying extortionate prices will soon rectify the problem.

Yes, short notice bookings for now until 2022 unless this current shower gets its act together.

but it adds excitement to your life, like a lottery ticket; you get the thrill of wondering whether you’ll actually get to go on holiday and then the moderate anxiety of not knowing whether the airline will go into administration before you can use your e-voucher when the trip is cancelled. Join the roller coaster!

Is it me, or does the cloud in that picture look like concorde?
