Save £200 at selected Four Seasons hotels with American Express

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

For the first time ever, as far as I know, the ultra-luxurious Four Seasons hotel chain has launched a cashback offer with American Express.

The offer appeared on Wednesday evening but apparently suffered an IT issue and couldn’t be saved. American Express then seems to have withdrawn it. I am hoping it is back by the time you read this – if not, hopefully it will re-emerge in a day or so.

You need to look under the ‘Offers’ tab on the statement page of the Amex website, or in the Amex app, for each American Express card you hold. If the offer is there, you need to click ‘Save to Card’ to activate it.

You will receive £200 cashback when you spend £1,000 at selected Four Seasons hotels.

The participating hotels are:

  • Four Seasons Hotel London At Park Lane
  • Four Seasons Hotel London At Ten Trinity Square
  • Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire
  • Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris
  • Grand-Hôtel Du Cap-Ferrat
  • Four Seasons Hotel Megeve
  • Four Seasons Hotel Madrid
  • Four Seasons Hotel Des Bergues Geneva

I don’t have the closing date unfortunately.

If you are based in or around London, you probably know that Four Seasons Hampshire is – by a large margin – the best upmarket weekend break option for a family.

We have been visiting since before we had children, so for 15 years now, and have probably done around 75 nights over the years. The recent addition of a kids pool made it even better for young children and has relieved some of the pressure on the main pool.

If you are booking a Four Seasons hotel to take advantage of this deal, you should book via our luxury hotel booking partner Emyr Thomas at Bon Vivant.

As a Four Seasons Preferred Partner, your booking will usually come with:

  • free breakfast (this is a big saving at Four Seasons)
  • room upgrade if available at check-in
  • a hotel credit (usually $100 or equivalent, may be restricted to certain services)

….. and some other bits and pieces depending on property.

Importantly, Emyr can usually get these benefits on ANY rate showing on the Four Seasons website, so you are virtually certain to get a better deal by using him. The small print of the Amex offer is likely to require you to book a ‘pay at check-out’ rate.

You can contact Emyr via the form on this page of HfP.

  • JP-MCO says:

Four Seasons offer not showing on either of my cards.

  • Ian says:

Not on any of my 10 cards

  • Stuart says:

Amex sent me an email about the Marriott card advertising the bonus. Surely they know I have an Amex already and don’t qualify for the bonus so shouldn’t really be targeting me with emails!

  • Save East Coast Rewards says:

I should be at LHR tomorrow so if I remember I will make a few purchases to see if points are once again posting automatically. If you’ve not had points post over the period of the outage then you should be able to get them back by emailing receipts to Heathrow Rewards customer services – if you don’t have the receipt in the past they’ve been happy to accept entries from bank/ccard statements as long as it clearly identified the store as Heathrow,

    • Nick says:

Are Heathrow reward points not posting then ? I brought few bits at Heathrow on Thursday before my flight and just checked now and my history is blank. I threw out the receipts 🤦‍♂️

      • Andrew says:

I’ve been to Heathrow in May and June and small incidental purchases (mostly Caffè Nero) have not posted.

I’ve only ever once managed to get pay-on-foot parking to post automatically however – there’s a sequence to memorise for the order in which you insert the parking ticket, HR card and payment card but I never remember it!

      • Save East Coast Rewards says:

Which shop was it? I seem to have some issues with points at Boots and I think it’s a staff error (perhaps they’re meant to press some button before they scan the card)

        • Andrew says:

It was Nero (different stores, both times however) and M&S. Although tbh I’m not sure I’ve ever had M&S points post without chasing…

    • Ikaz says:

I have been using the car park almost weekly since feb, no points posted automatically. I have already requested points for the first batch and the manually credited them, I will check for the latest stays

      • Andrew says:

The other thing to check is whether when then manually update your points, do they also extend the expiry date of your points.

Not usually an issue but given I’ve been nowhere near Heathrow for 15 months until May, it would be handy for an extension on this occasion.

  • EmmaB says:

I got the four seasons offer showing but couldn’t get it to save to my card. It is not reappeared sadly.

  • Lee says:

Not on any of my cards.

  • Andrew says:

Just Sweaty Betty and assorted other e-commerce startups on my myriad cards.

    • Crafty says:

Sweaty Betty is not an e-commerce startup.

      • Mike says:

No it is chuffing annoying company that keeps targeting me / us with endless offers

        • Jonathan says:

Makes me laugh the hatred it gets on here. Do you get as annoyed with seeing any other advert on a daily basis on a billboard/tv etc?

I understand they’re a fairly mainstream “athleisure” brand, a sector which is booming in lockdown, so should be a good offer to have on a recurring basis for a significant number of cardholders?

  • Nora says:

Hi everyone, my partner and I are new to Amex and are attempting to follow Rob’s strategy for accumulating over 180,000 Avios points between us. My partner has recently signed up for the Nectar card and I’m wondering if I’m referred and apply for the Marriott card, if we’d still be eligible for the sign up bonuses on BAPP and the Platinum card. Would the strategy still work? Any advice appreciated.

    • Memesweeper says:

      Yes and yes AFAIK

Read the small print on the day of application of course, the rules may change (again)

    • Rob says:

Yes, you can swap Nectar for Marriott. The strategy still works.
