The HfP chat thread – Sunday 25th July

We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

Looking to get the rapid antigen test for arrival back to the UK from for 29 pounds, they seem ok on trustpilot – only require a photo of the test result rather than a video. Has anyone used them, does anyone have a discount code, other recommendations welcome. Thank you

    • Rob says:

Hard to believe how the Government would allow a photo, because the second ‘positive’ line fades very quickly. Even if you are positive you can send a picture of a negative result after an hour.

LHR-SIN on Singapore Airlines. Which would you choose given that flying out of LHR T2 you don’t get to use any of the Star Alliance lounges (except PP I guess…)

    38k + £133 for Economy
    92k + £230 for Business

    • Pablo says:

Definitely business. You only live once.

    • Richie says:

It’s a very long flight, you’d get significant benefit with business.

      • Sam says:

Thanks guys. I remember there’s a website where I can see what seats are available / taken etc? Hoping to get the bulk head…

        • Blair says:

If flex on dates, worth changing dates till you find bulkhead seats available in the seat map when booking

  • Mikeact says:

    Goodnight from The Lizard.

  • KenC says:

Does anyone know if you could request a Future Travel Voucher from BA after you have flown the outbound of a return ticket, for just the return leg of the flight?

    • Ikaz says:

You can yes, I have one such voucher. They are different than the standard ones though as BA will have to calculate the fair for the 2nd leg so I can’t use mine online and will call to use it
