    You can book American Airlines flights using Etihad miles for fewer miles than American Airlines would charge you (Etihad effectively uses American’s per-devaluation award chart as its American Airlines partner award chart).

  Has anyone ever used this offer? I’m curious of the narrow window they give, if you send within that window you get the bonus, or it needs to be processed on Etihad side within that window to get the bonus?

    I’ve done it before and it worked and gave a bonus even though it processed a couple of days after the window.

  For the Marriott transfer, am I right in thinking if you transfer 60,000 points, at 3:1, it becomes 20,000 Etihad Guest Miles, plus Marriott gives an extra 5,000 when you transfer 60k.
  Then you receive a 40% bonus.

  So 20,000 + 5,000 (Marriott Bonus on 60k) + 10,000 (Etihad 40% bonus) = 35,000? Is that right?

      I would imagine this is how it works, but no real chance of verifying unless someone did a similar past transfer. All EY sees is 25k incoming.

    I can confirm that I recently transferred from marriott 60,000 points when there was a 50% bonus on and received 37,500 miles.

  Can anyone make out the redemption values on the Etihad site?

  I’m looking at LHR-AUH March 30th Business and can see a quote for 113,599 miles as “Guest Business”.

  As I don’t have enough miles presently I cannot select the fare but apparently that includes tax and you can reduce the miles by electing to pay the tax in cash. Can anyone confirm what the actual base fare is if you elect to pay the tax?

  Is Etihad’s shrinkage likely to continue? Also any chance they’ll return to their unpopular 24 month mileage expiry policy down the line?
