The HfP chat thread – Saturday 11th September

We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

Curve advertising 20% off I saw this morning?

      • KBuffett says:

I received an email from Curve advertising Ca$hback rewards at Pizza Express, Morrison’s etc. When I log into my account, these offers aren’t available.

      • Simon says:

ah yes. in fact just noticed 20% off at laithwaites via Amex. so a code to double dip with them would be even better !

  • John says:

Something, er, different. Positive review from property crisis, migration restarting Dublin, of new Wetherspoon’s hotel.

(Camden Street accessible from roads across from Temple Bar or Stephens Green and runs to canal and Rathmines. Very alcohol orientated.)

    • Super Secret Stuff says:

Wetherspoons hotels are actually surprisingly good! Stayed a couple of times, each has its own bit of character. Nothing ground breaking and not quite premier inn but the basics and add ons are usually spot on

    • Nick says:

Note it is a review of a stay ‘paid by Wetherspoons’ so apply an appropriate filter to the review!

  • Saiz says:

Can vehicle tax be paid by Amex without any charge as it says credit cards get charged a fee.

  • Can says:

Can my wife refer to me to Amex BA Biz Acc from her personal Amex?

  • a270 says:

Can a Gold Amex supplementary use both airport lounge passes on two separate visits?

    • Ikaz says:

You can use them separately yes (as long as you don’t cancel your Amex before the lounge visit)

      • Ikaz says:

Although you talk about a supp card holder, I don’t think that they get their own lounge pass. Lounges sometimes name check upon entry

  • Benilyn says:

Asking for a friend, he wants to move some KLM flights for tomorrow but can’t get through to London call centre on 02076600293
They keep hanging up after 30 min. Any idea how else to get through? They don’t answer WhatsApp and US call centre closed

  • Josu says:

    Morning all,

How long should it take for my referral points to be added to my account?

I referred someone for a BA premium card via my Amex plat for 24k MR and they’ve used the card for a week now and no sign of my referral bonus?

    Thanks

    • Thomas Shelby says:

The points usually post before the recipient receives their new card, chances you won’t get these points automatically, they haven’t tracked.
