Miles & More is currently running ‘My World Challenge’. This is described as a series of miles-earning opportunities which will only be available via the Miles & More app.

The airline did email opted-in members about this, but the email was sent in Mandarin so it’s possible you didn’t fully understand what you need to do ….

If you download the Miles & More app, you will see a dropdown menu at the top called ‘My World Challenge’. This allows you to opt-in to earning 100 miles by visiting five airline pages on the Miles & More website.

It does work, shockingly. If you keep the app open on your phone whilst browing the web on a desktop, you will see a ‘success’ message pop up in the app as soon as you hit the 5th page. The miles post instantly.

The screenshot above shows what you need to do.

Unfortunately, earning 100 miles will do nothing to reset the expiry date of your existing Miles & More miles. It’s up to you whether its worth five minutes of your life to pick up 100 miles.

PS. If you’ve never downloaded the Miles & More app before, you will earn an extra bonus of 500 miles due to the promotion we discuss here.

But no picture of this apparently “classy“ Ibis room to compare if it’s worth the extra?

    • Rob says:

Click the link to the hotel page, there is one there. Have now made this clearer.

    • Richie says:

King size or Double bed is the main difference consideration. Good to have more choice for T5.

    RE: ‘My World Challenge’
What a crap gimick. The offer can only be accessed via the mobile phone app and you must activate it via the mobile phone app…….yet to complete the offer you can only do it via a web browser….genius?!

    • Fraser says:

The app doesn’t even let me log in despite accepting the correct credentials, just returns to the home page. Useless.

      • J says:

@Fraser – I’ve been having that a lot. Are you using a VPN? Solution for me was to temporarily disable it…

    • J says:

Oh to even have the challenge 😉

(I just see ‘My Challenges’ and ‘Coming soon’…)

        • TJ says:

Now that’s interesting! I had 500m already in the app – must have downloaded but have never actively used it. I noticed that all comms permissions were turned off. When I activated all the permissions, I received a further 500m! So I now have 1000m showing in the app albeit I still only have “My Challenge” and not “My World Challenge” showing.

Ironically, it’s much more than you receive from most of their flights!

Miles&More REFUSE to change my title from Mrs to Mr, without jumping through near impossible hoops because of, well, Privacy. Sorry, rant over…

Contact The Data Protection Commissioner of Hesse and raise a formal complaint that they are breaching GDPR by misgendering you.

They are such Germans in all what concerns rules… not an inch of bending ever

  • Greenpen says:

I am so disappointed with the behaviour of Miles and More over the removal of the credit card that maintained your balance. The card did not exist for very long and I am somewhat short of a useful balance. Coupled with coronavirus stopping flying this means I will shortly have Miles deducted.

I am now having to buy Miles to meet my target.

    • JRich says:

Agree 100%, customer disservice. They cancelled half of my miles in the middle of the pandemic despite flying with Lufthansa in January of this year. I sent a complaint the web page and received no reply, It will be the last time they see any of my £.

      • MD says:

Agree completely. If they don’t bring back a credit card to protect my miles by the end of the year, as is looking increasingly unlikely, and then start expiring my miles next year, Lufthansa will never see another penny from me.

  • Paul Jennings says:

I noticed on my statement that I have been credited with 1 mile with the reference ‘M&M CREDIT CARD / MMG / Expiry Protection’. So it looks like they are doing something behind the scenes to stop miles expiring.

    • Rob says:

This is a technical thing – it also happened when the MBNA Lufty card closed. The only way they can stop the computer expiring your miles is to keep adding 1 mile on and say its from the credit card.

  • Rob says:

    Good point, fixed.

  • David S says:

My balance is now zero 😕

  • RussellH says:

While I got the invitation in Mandarin, I also got an apology + follow up in English.

But with just 160 miles in my a/c, totally not worth worrying about any of this.
When the LH cards were scrapped, I spent my miles, and credited subsequent flights to UA, who do not expire miles.

  • AndrewM says:

Get 100 free Miles & More miles: Logged into my own and my wifes account and it just states under “My Challenge” that its “Coming Soon”.
