We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

  • David says:

Booster now on the covid pass – sorry if someone else has already seen this.

    • Simonbr says:

      Good spot thanks!

    • HH says:

Indeed, and it’s fully recognised by the Swiss app as a valid certificate. Hooray!

    • Alan says:

If only the Scottish app would be updated too. I’ve given up on booking any European trips before Christmas – between booster not showing in the app and lots more lockdowns in various countries it seems pointless.

  • Mikeact says:

Bit cheeky, but, Re BA WineFlyer/Laithwaites. Would anybody not using their £100 voucher be happy to share their voucher code number..thanks.

    • Manya says:

I’m happy to, I probably won’t make use of this offer or the craft gin club offer and other similar alcohol related offers.

I’m looking for a code but don’t see it? I see it as a save to card type of offer.

      • Mikeact says:

Thanks for that. I think it’s the paper version voucher that has the code on it…..

    • johnny_c-l says:

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but the Wineflyer offer I have is code 5089001 – it includes free tumblers, delivery, 1k Avios & a bottle of prosecco. Elsewhere in the leaflet it mentions saving £100 but that might just be what they’re valuing the tumblers, prosecco etc. at.

  • Anna says:

The Indigo seems to have adopted IHG’s dynamic pricing structure already – random weekend in October next year starts at 324 euros per night or 60k – 70k points!

  • Kumar says:

I am still awaiting my balance to be transferred from Avro to Octopus. The balance is around 2k paid with Amex and still ongoing Direct debits to Octopus.I had an email stating that when Avro issues final bill it would be reflected in Octopus .It has been nearly two months.

    • Andrew says:

Octopus are very slick. Company administrators work at their own sure and steady pace.

You’ll find that the moment Octopus receive the final data and cash from the administrators, your account will be updated. They have no influence whatsoever on the administrators.

    • Peter K says:

In same situation. I contacted Octopus by email and not heard anything back. I imagine it is just working its way through.

      • Peter K says:

Or rather, Octopus said they would look into it but not heard anything more.

    • The Savage Squirrel says:

What Andrew said. Administration is always something of a s**tshow, and to be fair the administrators are fairly highly regulated and have strict duties placed on them in law that they must follow to identify, contact and meet creditors and so on before they can release a penny to anyone. 6-9 months is not unusual for anything to happen. Not much point badgering Octopus too much – there’s literally nothing they can do for you here.

    • Crafty says:

In some ways this is karma, no?

  • Craig says:

Been busy at work the last couple of days but I’m impressed by the changes on SeatSpy. You can now set a date range for where can I go and the map expands to full screen.

  • Bagoly says:

I thought the “Avios functionality is [now][not yet] back article from yesterday might be pinned.
The message when trying to login using Firefox has now changed to:

“Logging in to your Executive Club

To log in to your Executive Club account, please use the British Airways mobile app. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, we’re working hard to get this part of our website back up and running.

    • Alan says:

Although app login works for accessing your account you still can’t book Avios redemptions with it 🙁

  • Colin MacKinnon says:

Just got an email from Loganair:

Barr’s beach landing day return for £85.

    In winter!!

    https://www.loganair.co.uk/campaign/barra-beach-landing-experience

    • Peggerz says:

I got that too Colin. No overnight stay allowed tho.

    • Paul says:

“Due to Covid restrictions, there is no coffee and cake provided in the fare this season”. Yes, because coffee and cake is a leading cause of COVID transmission

  • Colin MacKinnon says:

Barra- though you might get a Barr’s Irn Bru at the airport!
