We are running this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

    Is the NHS England app down at the moment?

    Just tried to get my Covid Pass – Had my Booster jab on Thursday last week, but I couldn’t get the app to load after I get click on the get my covid pass page.

      Mine was playing up earlier. Always best to get a print and not rely solely on the app!

        How can you distinguish between a self made PDF and a company generated PDF?… you can’t

        Plus anyone could in theory set up a business sending legit certs out

      Opened the link: 100 people stopped, 95 without a test- a failure of the airlines, and 5 with fake ones out of 80,000 arrivals. Our Irish friends could teach even Mr Johnson how to fiddle the data.

      Probably only the Brits that would fake a test. But there will have been a few who knew nothing about it for sure. To be sure.

    Just got an Email from Jet2 To confirm that I cancelled my flight from MAN to PFO!
    It does seem like they pulled the flight, but is that normal practice with them to send me a Email that I cancelled it?

    Does anyone know if the Fenwicks offer (mins is £20 back on £80 spen) is cumulative? They’ve split my order a charged me £72 for the part that has been dispatched!

    Hi all, Marriott Bonvoy query:

    I have a hotel redemption booking made when I had insufficient points under the Points Advance option. I now have sufficient points, and on the booking it says “Great! You’ve earned all the points you need. Deduct your points now for your stay”

    Try as I might, every time I click the link and go through the confirmation process the points never get deducted from my account at the end and the status still shows as needing to do this…

    Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong? I’m aware that Marriott are changing their redemption pricing in the new year and don’t want to get caught out somehow.

      Give Marriott a call. They do generally answer and it should be a quick fix.

    Cabin luggage – antigen/later flow tests (standard NHS + pre-departure one)

    I have 2 pieces of cabin luggage. Do I need to remove the tests out of the bag and put them in the tray to get through the security without issues? Do I need to remove the serum/liquid parts and put them in the bag with liquids? Or can I just leave them inside of the boxes and inside of my bag?

    It’s a silly question, I’ve done 18 flights this year but never had to take LFTs with me

      I just left the LFT packet unopened in my cabin luggage. It has gone through completely fine. Same as my daily contact lenses, which I never bother to remove as they don’t seem to set anything off either. I always leave these things somewhere easy to access just in case there is a problem but touch wood not yet!

    Email from Creation to apologise for delay handling my complaint, letter has been sent to me yesterday explaining how I can take it to the FoS & asking if I’d give them more time.

    I’ve given them until 22 to issue final response and to send it via mail & email.
