What other benefits come with the Marriott Bonvoy Amex?

15 free elite night credits

Every year (in early January) you are credited with 15 elite night credits in Marriott Bonvoy. When you stay in a Marriott Bonvoy hotel, you earn additional elite night credits which add up to give you status in the programme.

15 nights triggers Silver Elite status immediately see the benefits of that here. However, the real value unlocks further on.

Platinum Elite status normally requires 50 nights per year. Platinum is the sweet spot in the programme since it triggers executive lounge access or free breakfast at participating brands, decent upgrades as well as a guaranteed 4pm check-out at most hotels.

50 nights per year for Platinum Elite may be a stretch for you, but get the Marriott Amex and you’d only need 35 nights per year. This is a lot more achievable.

A free hotel night

When you spend £25,000 on the card in a year, you will be given a voucher for a free hotel night, up to the value of 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.

From early 2022 you will be allowed to top this up by a maximum of 15,000 points from your account, allowing you to book a hotel costing up to 40,000 points.

Gold Elite status

Spend £15,000 on the card in a year and you will get Gold Elite status in Marriott Bonvoy. This comes with a number of benefits including 2pm check-out.
