Book an exclusive ‘3-4-2’ offer at InterContinental, Regent and Kimpton hotels

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Yesterday, we looked at various ‘3-4-2’ and ‘4-4-3’ offers at Hilton’s luxury brands in Europe and the Middle East.

IHG has similar deals, and these have also been extended into the first half of 2022.

Intercontinental 342 deal

IHG has two programmes which can only be accessed if you book via selected luxury travel agents instead of via ihg.com.

The IHG Luxury Collection hotels (InterContinental, Regent, some non-US Kimpton) offer these extra benefits:

  • GUARANTEED 2pm late check-out
  • Breakfast for two in the hotel restaurant
  • $100 of hotel credit per stay
  • One category upgrade, subject to availability on arrival
  • Bottled water and fresh fruit or snacks in the room on arrival

Participating hotels, as of mid 2020, are in this HfP article.

The IHG Lifestyle Collection covers slightly less posh hotels, mainly Hotel Indigo and US-based Kimptons. You get:

  • 2pm late check-out, if available
  • $50 of hotel credit per stay
  • One category upgrade, subject to availability on arrival
  • Bottled water and fresh fruit or snacks in the room on arrival

For total clarity, the rate you pay is the same as the Best Available Rate on ihg.com.  All of these benefits are genuinely free on top.

This is a very good deal. You get three nights for the price of two, paying Best Flexible Rate, and – at an InterContinental, Regent and most Kimpton hotels above – get all the extra goodies above such as free breakfast, $100 credit, guaranteed 2pm check-out etc.

To book, you need to email our hotel booking partner Emyr Thomas via the form on this page of HfP. You can check pricing in advance by looking at the Best Available Rate on ihg.com, then drop Emyr a note to confirm that he can see the same rate. You cannot book this deal on the IHG website.

Bookings are fully cancellable at any point and you pay the hotel on departure. You earn IHG Rewards points and elite night credit as usual.

  • Rob H says:

Could you stack this with the “joining Ambassador” offer bolted on the end of a stay for example?

    • Supergers49 says:

I’ve used this 3-4-2 offer via Emyr, while being an Ambassador at the IC Estoril (Nov-21). We got both sets of benefits plus a double room upgrade. We stuck the Renew Ambassador Free Night on the end and were permitted to stay in the same room.
We also got 2x Free Drink vouchers for being Spire.

  • AndyS says:

If you’re an Ambassador do you still get the room upgrade with this? I’m surprised you get any benefits booking through a TA

    • Sarju says:

I had exactly the same question 😀

    • dst87 says:

These stack with InterContinental Ambassador benefits. I had this at the IC Vienna last month after booking through Emyr.

      • Aron says:

Did you get a double upgrade? Or did they just give you the Ambassador single category upgrade?

        • Rob says:

Historically I have got stacked upgrades, eg the suite I got at Kimpton Paris via Impressario and my Inner Circle status.

        • Supergers49 says:

I’ve always had Double Upgrades and Stacked Benefits when stacking Emyr/FH&R with Ambassador.

    • Rob says:

You need to differentiate between a travel agent which buys from bed banks (eg BA Holidays, Hotels.com) and one which books directly with the hotel. The latter earn.

If agent bookings were non qualifying, no business travellers would ever earn points.

We do not make this distinction in our articles because it is too complex.

      • u07ch says:

My company travel site is powered by Expedia; and even they have rates for most all chain hotels that are marked as points/ status rewarded.

  • DJ says:

    Boo, nothing for Glasgow 🙁

    • dst87 says:

I have seen a different list (from 2021) that includes Kimpton Blythswood Square, so it may be worth emailing Emyr to check if you’re interested.

  • Sean says:

If you’re staying six nights does this amount to 6-4-4?

  • TGLoyalty says:

Could be interesting at Park Lane where booking via Emyr also gets club access.

    • Rob says:

Not sure if it would stack because that is a Virtuoso benefit and not a Luxury & Lifestyle one.

  • Blair Waldorf Salad says:

I did 3-4-2 at Regent Berlin earlier this month. Possibly the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. And I got points having booked via an agent. In fact, I got points for 2 rooms no problem.

  • Erico1875 says:

So the best available rates for my preferred hotel, The IC George, Edinburgh, are the “Advanced Saver Rate” with a marginally lower rate for IHG members.
So will Emyr match this rate, give the 3 4 2 and all the other benefits?

    • Rob says:

No. It prices off Best Flexible Rate, as per the article. However, you get the Best Flex cancellation rules as opposed to the weaker Advanced Saver ones.

      • ChrisC says:

Emyrs rates are the Best Flexible NON member rate.

But you need to do the maths.

3 nights at Advance Saver V 2 nights at the BFR and see what the difference is!

        • Rob says:

Emyr got me a deal based on the Best Flex member rate on a recent stay … forgotten which chain it was though, so not a hugely helpful comment I know ….

  • Nick says:

If booking two rooms would it be better to book two separate bookings so you get the $100 hotel credit twice as opposed to two rooms in one booking and the $100 is for both rooms?

    • Blair Waldorf Salad says:

I am not sure it makes a difference as the credit is per room. I got the credit for 2 rooms at Regent Berlin and then merged the bills so as to apply the double credit to the bill

    • Rob says:

You get it for both rooms if you book two rooms, irrespective of whether it is one or two bookings.
